The Aukrug Nature Park (german: Naturpark Aukrug) is a nature park in north Germany with an area of . It lies in the centre of the state of Schleswig-Holstein in the region of Holstein (districts of Rendsburg-Eckernförde and Steinburg). It is sponsored by an association formed by the 2 districts. Location The nature park lies near Neumünster only a few kilometres west of the A 7 motorway. Two landscape forms occur in the park: the flat and pure loamy ground moraine landscape and the considerably more subdivided push moraine landscape, that rises to about 80 metres above NN. Wasbek
Wasbek is a municipality, immediately west of Neumünster, in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Geography Wasbek lies immediately west of Neumünster. In the west the park Aukrug borders the municipality. In the east runs Federal Highway 7 from Hamburg to Flensburg through the village area and is on the Neumünster-Mitte exit. The Bundesstraße 430 from Lütjenburg to Schenefeld (Federal highway 23) runs from east to west through the municipality. The village is also connected to the Nordbahn, on the Neumünster–Heide rail line. The bus line 9 connects Wasbek and Wasbek-Bullenbek with Neumünster. Rendsburg-Eckernförde (; da, Rendsborg-Egernførde) is a district in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is bounded by (from the east and clockwise) the city of Kiel, the district of Plön (district), Plön, the city of Neumünster, the districts of Segeberg, Steinburg, Dithmarschen and Schleswig-Flensburg, and the Baltic Sea. History In 1867 the Prussian administration established twenty districts in its province of Schleswig-Holstein, among them the districts of Rendsburg and Eckernförde. Neumünster () is a city in the middle of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. With more than 79,000 registered inhabitants, it is the fourth-largest municipality in Schleswig-Holstein (behind Kiel, Lübeck and Flensburg). History The city was first formally mentioned as ''Wippendorp im Gau Faldera'' in 1127. In that year, the Bishop Vicelinus was sent there by the Archbishop of Bremen to perform missionary work.
