Ani Nath Shahdeo was Nagvanshi king in 17th century. He was king of Barkagarh estate. He founded his capital at Satrangi near Subarnarekha river. He built Jagannath temple in 1691. Thakur (title)
Thakur is a historical feudal title of the Indian subcontinent. It is also used as a surname in the present day. The female variant of the title is Thakurani or Thakurain, and is also used to describe the wife of a Thakur. There are varying opinions among scholars about its origin. Some scholars suggest that it is not mentioned in the Sanskrit texts preceding 500 BCE, but speculates that it might have been a part of the vocabulary of the dialects spoken in northern India before the Gupta Empire. Barkagarh Estate
The Barkagarh estate was a zamindari estate situated in modern-day Jharkhand, India, in erstwhile Lohardaga district (now in Ranchi). It was established by Ani Nath Shahdeo, the son of Nagvanshi king Ram Shah in 17th century. The capital of the estate was Satranji now located in south Ranchi. Ram Shah (king)
Ram Shah was Nagvanshi king in 17th century. He succeed his brother Durjan Shah and ruled from 1640 to 1663 CE. Earlier their capital was at Khukhragarh, but later they shifted to Navratangarh. He was brother of king Durjan Shah. According to a sanskrit inscription on the wall of Kapilnath Temple in Navratangarh, the temple was constructed in samvat 1700 (1643 CE) during reign of Ram Shah. He attacked and fought a battle with the king of Rewa and pact was established in the end. Later his son, Ani Nath Shahdeo, married the daughter of the king of Rewa. Ranchi
Ranchi (, ) is the capital of the Indian state of Jharkhand. Nagvanshis Of Chotanagpur
The Nagvanshis of Chotanagpur (also known as the Khokhra chieftaincy), was an ancient Indian dynasty which ruled the parts of Chota Nagpur plateau region (modern-day Jharkhand) during much of ancient, medieval and modern period. Jagannath Temple, Ranchi
Jagannath Temple in Ranchi, is a 17th-century temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath. It was built by king of Barkagarh Jagannathpur Thakur Ani Nath Shahdeo, in 1691. Completed on December 25, 1691, it is located about 10 km from the main town. The temple is on top of a small hillock. Hatia is a town and railway station in Ranchi district, Jharkhand, India. Etymology The name "Hatia" derive from "Hat" which means "market." Raghunath Shah
Raghunath Shah was a Nagvanshi king in the 17th century. He succeeded his father Ram Shah in 1663. His capital was at Navratangarh. He built several temples during his reign. According to Lal Pradumn Singh, writer of the book ''Nagvansh'' (1951), Mughals invaded Khukhra during the reign of Raghunath Shah. Mughal officials were sent by Aurangzeb to attack Khukhra in his initial years. The invasion was strongly resisted which resulted in the death of Mughal officials. Later Raghunath Shah agreed to pay tax to Mughal. He constructed several temples with the help of Maratha Guru Harinath, including Jagannath Temple in 1682, Madan Mohan Temple of Boreya and Radha Balabh Temple in 1687. Rewa (princely State)
Rewa State, also known as Rewah, was a Rajput princely state of India, surrounding its eponymous capital, the town of Rewa. With an area of about , Rewa was the largest princely state in the Bagelkhand Agency and the second largest in Central India Agency. Rewa was also the third wealthiest principality in Central India, with an average revenue of rupees 2.9 million in 1901.
