Al Kuwait Kaifan
Kuwait Sporting Club ( ar, نادي الكويت الرياضي) is a Kuwaiti professional football club based in Kuwait City. The football team has won Kuwaiti Premier League 17 times. Kuwait SC also has over 50 trophies in Kuwaiti Club football history. Kuwait SC plays in the Al Kuwait Sports Club Stadium, in Kaifan, which is the 5th largest stadium in Kuwait. It is the first Kuwaiti club to ever win an Asian title (currently three times), 2009 AFC Cup, 2012 AFC Cup and 2013 AFC Cup. History Kuwait SC (also referred as "Al Kuwait" or nicknamed ''Al Ameed'', which means 'the oldest club in the nation') is the first founded club since independence. The team has been doing well in the 1980s as their players have later been part of the national team that reached the FIFA World Cup 1982. Al Kuwait Kaifan Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kuwait City, Kuwait. It is currently used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of Al Kuwait Kaifan. The stadium holds 12,350. This stadium had also hosted Kuwait's national team matches during the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification, which they failed to reach. The stadium hosted the final matches of the Kuwait Emir Cup and Kuwait Crown Cup for the last 5 seasons. The 2011–12 Kuwaiti Premier League season was the 50th since its establishment. The season started on 30 December with the regular league season finishing on 1 June.
