Originally the league was structured at 8 teams but Kuwait FA announced its expansion in football so last seasons 2017–18 relegated team have been un-relegated and 2017–18 Kuwaiti Division One winners Al-Shabab SC and losing play-off team Al-Fahaheel FC will all compete this season. Kuwaiti Premier League
The Kuwait Premier League (), known as STC Premier League due to sponsorship reasons, is the top division of the Kuwait football pyramid system. Formed in 1961, Al-Arabi, Qadsia and Kuwait both hold the best record in the competition, having won 17 times. History The Kuwaiti league officially began in the 1961/62 season, after playing unofficially for eight years (played with group of clubs: "Ahli - Al Jazeera - Arabism - Gulf - Solidarity - Al-Qubali, Al-Nahda, Al-Sharqai, Al-Merqab, Al-Mawalim and Al-Taawon). Salmiya (Arabic السالمية; transliterated As-Sālmīya(h)) is a city in Hawalli Governorate in Kuwait. Salmiya is administratively divided into 12 blocks. Jahra
Al Jahra ( ar, الجهراء) is a town and city located west of the centre of Kuwait City in Kuwait. Al Jahra is the capital of the Al Jahra Governorate of Kuwait as well as the surrounding Al Jahra District which is agriculturally based. The Al-Sadaqua Walsalam Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Adiliya Kuwait City, Kuwait. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches. The stadium holds 21,500. It is the 2nd largest stadium in Kuwait. The Stadium hosted many finals for the Kuwait Emir Cup and Kuwait Crown Cup.
