2013–14 Kuwaiti Premier League
The 2013–14 Kuwaiti Premier League season was the 52nd since the league's establishment. This season in the Kuwaiti Premier League, there were 14 teams. This was the first time there had been 14 teams since the 2005–06 season. Kuwait SC came into this tournament as defending champion after they won the title last season following four seasons without a league title. Teams This season's Kuwaiti Premier League featured all 14 teams of the football pyramid, combining both the Premier League and Division One together, a structure last used in the 2005–06 Kuwaiti Premier League season. Fourteen teams played each other twice to determine the league champions. Therefore, Kazma, who came bottom in the 2012–13 campaign avoided relegation. The end-of-season playoff between Al Salmiya and Al Shabab in which Al Salmiya won, thus didn't matter. Kuwaiti Premier League
The Kuwait Premier League (), known as STC Premier League due to sponsorship reasons, is the top division of the Kuwait football pyramid system. Formed in 1961, Al-Arabi, Qadsia and Kuwait both hold the best record in the competition, having won 17 times. History The Kuwaiti league officially began in the 1961/62 season, after playing unofficially for eight years (played with group of clubs: "Ahli - Al Jazeera - Arabism - Gulf - Solidarity - Al-Qubali, Al-Nahda, Al-Sharqai, Al-Merqab, Al-Mawalim and Al-Taawon). Al Kuwait Kaifan Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kuwait City, Kuwait. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and hosts the home matches of Al Kuwait Kaifan. The stadium holds 12,350. This stadium had also hosted Kuwait's national team matches during the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification, which they failed to reach.
