Asia Cruises
Asia Cruises (formerly Asia Cruiser Club) is a cruise line operating from Hong Kong. It launched the ''Captain Omar'' in 1997, and later acquired various cruise liners including ''Omar II'', ''Omar III'' and ''Asia Star''. The company is controlled by entrepreneur Stanley Ho. History It was founded in 1997. Beginning in 2003, Asia Cruises obtained embarkation and berthing rights from the Chinese government at eight ports in Tianjin, Shanghai, Xiamen, Dalian, Dandong, Ningbo, Shantou and Haikou. The ''Asia Star'' (formerly the ''Radisson Diamond'') was added to the fleet in 2005 at a cost of HK$390 million. As of 2012 no ships were sailing for Asia Cruises, after the sale of the ''Asia Star''. A cruise line is a company that operates cruise ships that operate on ocean or rivers and which markets cruises to the public. Cruise lines are distinct from passenger lines which are primarily concerned with transportation of passengers. Though cruise packages provided by cruise lines vary, there are some features most have in common, such as accommodation, all meals and entertainment. They may include alcohol and shore excursions, sometimes on additional payment. Dandong
Dandong (), formerly known as Andong, is a coastal prefecture-level city in southeastern Liaoning province, in the northeastern region of People's Republic of China. It is the largest Chinese border city, facing Sinuiju, North Korea across the Yalu River, which demarcates the Sino-North Korean border. To the southwest of the city, the river flows into Korea Bay. Dandong has therefore had a dynamic history because of its strategic location for the northeast's rich natural resources and because of its convenient access to the ocean. Sun Viking
MV ''Sun Viking'', was one of the three original cruise ships ordered by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as part of their early fleet. The ship was first put into service in 1972. She was scrapped at Gadani Ship Breaking Yard, Pakistan in February 2022. Along with her sister ships, the ''Song of Norway'' and '' Nordic Prince'', the class comprised the first purpose-built ships intended for Caribbean-based cruise travel. ''Sun Viking'' cruised the Mexican Riviera on a 7-day itinerary out of Los Angeles and the Caribbean out of San Juan, Puerto Rico in the early 1990s. The Hong Kong dollar (, currency symbol, sign: HK$; ISO 4217, code: HKD) is the official currency of the Hong Kong, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Haikou
Haikou (; ), also spelled as Hoikow is the capital and most populous city of the Chinese province of Hainan. Haikou city is situated on the northern coast of Hainan, by the mouth of the Nandu River. The northern part of the city is on the Haidian Island, which is separated from the main part of Haikou by the Haidian River, a branch of the Nandu. Administratively, Haikou is a prefecture-level city, comprising four districts, and covering .
