Army Command (Denmark)
The Army Command is the Royal Danish Army's top authority, and directly under the Defence Command (Denmark), Defence Command. Originally created as the Army Staff (Denmark), Army Staff, as part of the Danish Defence Agreement 2013–17, which called for major restructuring within the Danish military. It is the successor to Army Operational Command (Denmark), Army Operational Command. On 1 January 2019, as part of the Danish Defence Agreement 2018–23, the name was changed to Army Command. Royal Danish Army
The Royal Danish Army (; ; ) is the land-based branch of the Danish Armed Forces, together with the Danish Home Guard. For the last decade, the Royal Danish Army has undergone a massive transformation of structures, equipment and training methods, abandoning its traditional role of anti-invasion defence, and instead focusing on out of area operations by, among other initiatives, reducing the size of the conscripted and reserve components and increasing the active (standing army) component, changing from 60% support structure and 40% operational capability, to 60% combat operational capability and 40% support structure. When fully implemented, the Danish army will be capable of deploying 1,500 troops permanently on three different continents continuously, or 5,000 troops for a shorter period of time, in international operations without any need for extraordinary measures such as parliamentary approval of a war funding bill. Signal Regiment (Denmark)
The Command Support Regiment () is a regiment of the Royal Danish Army. It was established in 1951 with the purpose of training and equipping units to support the Danish army with wartime Command, Control and Communications. Until 1 January 2019 the unit was known as Signal Regiment ). Engineer Regiment (Denmark)
The Engineer Regiment () is a regiment in the Royal Danish Army with base in Skive in Jutland. The soldiers of this regiment are trained in skills such as demolition, bomb disposal, bridge construction, defending against chemical, biological and radiological hazards, and much more. The engineer troops are also trained to fight alongside infantry regiments in combat zones if needed. This regiment was formed by the amalgamation of nearly all of the Danish military engineering corps into one regiment in 1997, simply named ''Ingeniørregimentet''. The core of the Danish combat engineers are the so-called armored engineers. Oksbøl
Oksbøl is a town in southwestern Jutland in the Varde Municipality, in Region of Southern Denmark. As of 1 January 2024, it has a population of 2,840. Oksbøl Refugee Camp houses the refugee museum FLUGT, which opened in 2022. The museum describes the story of refugees from various conflicts throughout history as well as convey the history of the refugee camp. The museum is designed by Bjarke Ingels Group. Danish Artillery Regiment
The Danish Artillery Regiment (DAR, ) is an artillery unit of the Royal Danish Army, which was founded on 1 November 2005 when the two artillery regiments in Denmark, King's Artillery Regiment and Queen's Artillery Regiment were merged. The unit was disbanded in 2014 and revived in 2019. History DAR was created administratively 1 August 2005 by merging the King's Artillery Regiment and the Queen's Artillery Regiment, with the official day creation as 1 November 2005.
