A tram system forms part of the public transport network in Antalya, Turkey. Currently, a three-line system is operated by Antalya Ulaşım A.Ş. AntRay The modern light rail line Antray opened in December 2009 as a two-way 16-stop line connecting the north of the city to the center. Hadrian's Gate ( tr, Üçkapılar, meaning "The Three Gates") is a triumphal arch located in Antalya, Turkey, which was built in the name of the Roman emperor Hadrian, who visited the city in the year 130. It is the only remaining entrance gate in the walls that surround the city and harbor. The gate was rediscovered by Francis Beaufort in 1817, while commanding on ''HMS Fridericksteen''. Description Hadrian's Gate consists of two colonnaded facades, three entry arches rising above four pylons and a tower standing on either side. It is about 8 meters (26.2 feet) high. The Southern Tower, known as the Julia Sancta, is from the Roman era but was likely built independently of the gate. Konyaaltı Beach
Konyaaltı Beach ( tr, Konyaaltı Plajı) is one of the two main beaches of Antalya, the other being Lara Beach. The beach is located on the western side of the city and stretches for 13 km primarily composed of fine pebbles, but also has some sand. The water is beautifully clear. The Alaaddin Mosque or Yivli Minare Mosque (literally: "Fluted Minaret" Mosque), commonly also called Ulu Mosque ( tr, Ulu Cami, "Grand Mosque") in Antalya is a historical mosque built by the Anatolian Seljuk Sultan Alaaddin Keykubad I. It is part of a külliye (complex of structures) which includes the Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev Medrese, Seljuk and Dervish lodge, and the vaults of Zincirkıran and Nigar Hatun. The mosque is located in Kaleiçi (the old town centre) along Cumhuriyet Caddesi, next to Kalekapısı Meydanı. Kaleiçi is the historic city center of Antalya, Turkey. Until modern times, almost the entire city was confined within its walls. It has structures dating from the Roman Empire, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuq Empire, Seljuk, Ottoman Empire, Ottoman and modern Turkish republican eras. Most of it however, dates to the late 18th and 19th centuries. __NOTOC__ Hıdırlık Tower ( tr, Hıdırlık Kulesi) is a landmark tower of tawny stone in Antalya, Turkey, where Kaleiçi meets Karaalioğlu Park. History It is believed that the ruling Roman Empire built it in the second century CE on a square plan. In the same century, it was turned into circular tower. Under the Byzantines, it was used as a military outpost. It has since been used as a fortification or a lighthouse.
