Anne Vegter
Anne Vegter (born 31 December 1958, Delfzijl) is a Dutch poet, playwright and writer of children's literature. She is the first woman to hold the position of Dichter des Vaderlands (Dutch Poet Laureate). Early life Vegter attended a gymnasium in Drachten and Epe. She studied art history and pedagogy in at the Academie voor Expressie door Woord en Gebaar in Utrecht in the late seventies. In 1976, she worked in a psychiatric institution. In 1977, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Career Poetry and writing In 1989, she published her first children's book ''De dame en de neushoorn'' with illustrations by Geerten Ten Bosch. For this book they were awarded the Woutertje Pieterse Prijs in 1990. The main characters in this book were first introduced in the children's magazine ''St. Kitts van de Bovenwindse''. Delfzijl
Delfzijl (; gos, Delfsiel) is a city and former municipality with a population of 25,651 in the province of Groningen (province), Groningen in the northeast of the Netherlands. Delfzijl was a sluice between the Delf (canal), Delf and the Ems (river), Ems, which became fortified settlement in the 16th century. The fortifications were removed in the late 19th century. Delfzijl is the fifth largest seaport in the Netherlands, and the largest port in the North East of the country. Etymology The name ''Delfzijl'' means 'sluice of the Delf'. Toneelschrijfprijs
The Toneelschrijfprijs is an annual literary award awarded to the playwrights of a Dutch-language play that debuted in the preceding season. The award ceremony is held in either Flanders or the Netherlands. The prize was first awarded in 1988 as the ''Nederlands-Vlaamse Toneelschrijfprijs''. The award was renamed in 1993 to ''Taalunie Toneelschrijfprijs'' and in 2018 to ''Toneelschrijfprijs''. As of 2018 the prize is a collaboration between the Nederlandse Taalunie (Dutch Language Union), the Fonds Podiumkunsten, the Nederlands Letterenfonds and the Vlaams Fonds voor de Letteren. Leeuwarden Railway Station
Leeuwarden railway station is the main railway station in Leeuwarden in Friesland, Netherlands. The station, which opened on 27 October 1863, is on the Arnhem–Leeuwarden railway, the Harlingen–Nieuweschans railway and the Leeuwarden–Stavoren railway. Leeuwarden was also the terminus of the North Friesland Railway which served Anjum and Harlingen via Stiens. Behind the station is a stabling point for many trains. A sidewalk (North American English), pavement (British English), footpath in Australia, India, New Zealand and Ireland, or footway, is a path along the side of a street, street, highway, terminals. Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17/MAS17) was a scheduled passenger flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur that was shot down by Russian forces on 17 July 2014, while flying over eastern Ukraine. All 283 passengers and 15 crew were killed. The Anna Blaman Prijs (Dutch for ''Anna Blaman Prize'') is a Dutch literary award created by the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds. The award is named after Dutch writer and poet Anna Blaman. The award is only given to those who either live or work or have a close connection with the city of Rotterdam. The award is given once every three years. The award was established in 1965 and first awarded in 1966.
