Anna Blaman Prijs
The Anna Blaman Prijs (Dutch for ''Anna Blaman Prize'') is a Dutch literary award created by the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds. The award is named after Dutch writer and poet Anna Blaman. The award is only given to those who either live or work or have a close connection with the city of Rotterdam. The award is given once every three years. The award was established in 1965 and first awarded in 1966. Early on, the award was given for a specific work but as of 1981 the award is given for someone's entire oeuvre. , the award is organised by the Passionate Bulkboek organisation. , the Anna Blaman Prijs and the Hendrik Chabot Prijs (for visual arts) are the two remaining awards for the Rotterdam area created by the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds. , the Elly Ameling Prijs (for music) is no longer awarded and the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds only awards Cultuurprijs Zuid-Holland every other year. Edward Van De Vendel
Edward van de Vendel (born 1 August 1964) is a Dutch writer of children's literature. Early life Van de Vendel was born in 1964 in Leerdam, Netherlands. He worked as a teacher for several years before becoming a full-time writer in 2001. Career Van de Vendel made his poetry debut in 1996 with ''Betrap me''. In 2001, Van de Vendel published ''Wat rijmt er op puree?'', the Kinderboekenweekgeschenk, a publication on the occasion of the annual Boekenweek (Dutch Book Week). In 2004, he won the Woutertje Pieterse Prijs together with Fleur van der Weel for the book ''Superguppie''. Ester Naomi Perquin
Ester Naomi Perquin (born 16 January 1980) is a Dutch poet. She was born in Utrecht and grew up in Zierikzee. Perquin worked in the prison service to pay for her studies at the school of creative writing in Amsterdam. She was editor for the literary journal ''Tirade'' and wrote a column for the weekly ''De Groene Amsterdammer''. Perquin was also the city poet for Rotterdam for two years. Her first collection of poetry ''Servetten Halfstok'' (Napkins At Half Mast) was published in 2007. This was followed by ''Namens de ander'' (On Behalf of the Other) in 2009 which received the Jo Peters Poetry Prize in 2010 and the J.C. Bloem-poëzieprijs in 2011. Anne Vegter (born 31 December 1958, Delfzijl) is a Dutch poet, playwright and writer of children's literature. She is the first woman to hold the position of Dichter des Vaderlands (Dutch Poet Laureate). Early life Vegter attended a gymnasium in Drachten and Epe. She studied art history and pedagogy in at the Academie voor Expressie door Woord en Gebaar in Utrecht in the late seventies. In 1976, she worked in a psychiatric institution. In 1977, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Career Poetry and writing In 1989, she published her first children's book ''De dame en de neushoorn'' with illustrations by Geerten Ten Bosch.
