Annabel Breuer
Annabel Breuer (born 23 October 1992) is a wheelchair fencer and 1.5 point wheelchair basketball player. She has played for SKV Ravensburg and Sabres Ulm in the German wheelchair basketball league. In December 2012 she was contracted to play for first division club RSV Lahn-Dill as well as Sabres Ulm. She has also played the national team, with which she won two European titles, was runner-up at 2010 World Championships, and won a gold medal at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. After the London Games, President Joachim Gauck awarded the team Germany's highest sporting honour, the ''Silbernes Lorbeerblatt'' (Silver Laurel Leaf). Biberach (district)
Biberach () is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is bounded by (from the south and clockwise) the districts of Ravensburg, Sigmaringen, Reutlingen and Alb-Donau, and the Bavarian districts Neu-Ulm, Unterallgäu and the district-free city Memmingen. The major towns in the district of Biberach are Biberach an der Riß, Riedlingen, Ochsenhausen and Laupheim. Silbernes Lorbeerblatt (Silver Laurel Leaf), the highest sports award in Germany, was endowed on 23 June 1950 by the German President Theodor Heuss. It is awarded to athletes and teams of exemplary character that have won medals at Olympic and Paralympic Games, won important international titles like the football World Cup, or placed several times at international championships. To be honored with Silbernes Lorbeerblatt, an athlete or a team has to be nominated by the president of the German Olympic Sports Confederation to the German President. The request will be reviewed by the agency of the German President and the Federal Ministry of the Interior as this agency is responsible for sport in Germany. Ivo Gönner
Ivo Gönner (born 18 February 1952 in Laupheim) is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and was Lord Mayor of Ulm from 1992 until 29 February 2016. His father was a pharmacist. He grew up in Laupheim, studied jurisprudence in Heidelberg and worked as a lawyer until 1992 when he became Lord Mayor of Ulm, succeeding Ernst Ludwig (CDU). In 1999 und 2007 he was re-elected. On 29 February 2016 he gave his position to Gunter Czisch (CDU). Australia Women's National Wheelchair Basketball Team
The Australia women's national wheelchair basketball team is the women's wheelchair basketball side that represents Australia in international competitions. The team is known as the Gliders. The team hasn't won a gold medal for Australia since it began competing at the 1992 Summer Paralympics, however it has won either the silver or bronze medal since the 2000 Summer Paralympics held in Sydney. Gliders finished 6th at the 2014 Women's World Wheelchair Basketball Championship but did not qualify for the 2016 Summer Paralympics. Wheelchair fencing is a version of fencing for athletes with a disability. Wheelchair fencing is governed by the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation that is a List of international sport federations, federation of the International Paralympic Committee, and is one of the sports in the Summer Paralympic Games.
