Andries Kinsbergen
Andries Kinsbergen (25 September 1926 – 24 June 2016) was a Belgian lawyer and politician. Education Andries Kinsbergen went to highschool at the Royal Athenaeum of Deurne. An auditorium at his old highschool was named after him in 2010. In 1951, he graduated with a doctorate in Law at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Career He started his career as a lawyer in Antwerp and also worked as an assistant at the VUB. Later he became professor at the RUCA. He was governor of the Belgian province Antwerp from 1 January 1967 until 1 October 1993. Since 1993, he was Minister of State. Kinsbergen died 24 June 2016. The Order of Orange-Nassau ( nl, Orde van Oranje-Nassau, links=no) is a civil and military Dutch order of chivalry founded on 4 April 1892 by the queen regent, Emma of the Netherlands. The order is a chivalric order open to "everyone who has performed acts of special merits for society.” These are people who deserve appreciation and recognition from society for the special way in which they have carried out their activities. Deurne, Belgium
Deurne () is the second largest district of the municipality of Antwerp, Belgium, (right after the Antwerp town district) and has 80.781 inhabitants (2021). Deurne is best known for its green environment with the biggest park in Antwerp Rivierenhof. History Ancien régime Deurne was said to be the place where the Irish missionary Fredigand was abbot of Kerkelodor Abbey in the eighth century. There are indications that Deurne existed in prehistoric and Roman times but the first tangible proof of Deurne only dates back to 1185. During the Ancien régime Deurne was nothing more than part of the Eastern hinterland of Antwerp. Like many dwellings it settled on the crossroads of a river (the Schijn) and a connection route (the 'Turnhoutse baan': the road from Antwerp to Turnhout).
