Anar Nazirov
Anar Nazirov ( az, Anar Nəzirov; born 8 September 1985) is an Azerbaijani professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Gabala FK. Career On 6 June 2013 he was released from his contract with Gabala. Nazirov then signed with fellow Azerbaijan Premier League side Sumgayit. On 13 January 2014, after six months with Sumgayit, Nazirov re-signed for Gabala on a one-year contract. In July 2015 Nazirov moved to newly promoted Zira FK, on a one-year contract. On 11 May 2017, Nazirov signed a new contract with Zira. Qakh ( az, Qax, ka, კახი) is the capital of the Qakh District in the north of Azerbaijan, near the Russian border. History The Qakh region of Azerbaijan has a long history dating back to ancient times. Archeological excavations suggest the area had been populated during Eneolithic, Bronze and early Iron Ages. Neftçi Professional Football Club ( az, Neftçi Peşəkar Futbol Klubu), commonly known as Neftçi PFK or simply Neftçi (), is an Azerbaijani football club based in the capital, Baku, that currently plays in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the highest tier of Azerbaijan football. The club was founded in 18 March 1937 and played under the name of Neftyanik until 1968. Since then he has been competing under the name of Neftçi. Neftçi played for a total of 27 seasons in the Top Division of Soviet football. The main achievement of that period is the bronze medals of the USSR Championship won in 1966. 2014–15 Gabala FC Season
The 2014–15 season was Gabala's tenth season overall and ninth competing in the Azerbaijan Premier League. Following the 2013–14 Azerbaijan Cup final, Yuri Semin left the club. On 14 June 2014, Gabala announced Dorinel Munteanu as their new manager, on a one-year contract. On 8 December 2014, Munteanu was relieved of his duties as manager, following four wins in sixteen matches. 2013–14 Gabala FC Season
The 2013–14 season was Gabala's ninth season as a club and their eighth season in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the top flight of Azerbaijani football. They finished the season in their highest ever position, third, and earned qualification to the UEFA Europa League for the first time in the club's history. They also participated in the Azerbaijan Cup, reaching the final for the first time, where they lost to Neftchi Baku on penalties. It was their first, and only, season with manager Yuri Semin, who mutually terminated his contract at the end of the season. Sumgayit FK ( az, "Sumqayıt" futbol klubu, ) is an Azerbaijani football club based in Sumgayit that plays in the Azerbaijan Premier League. History The club was founded in 2010 as Sumgayit FK. In May 2011, the team secured their promotion to Azerbaijan Premier League after getting wildcard place instead of defunct Absheron. After securing promotion to the Premier League, the club based most of their squad on players from Azerbaijan's U-19 and U-17 players. 2011–12 PFC Turan Tovuz Season
The Turan Tovuz 2011–12 season is Turan Tovuz's nineteenth Azerbaijan Premier League season. They finished the regular season in 12th place, meaning they took part in the Relegation group. They finished this group in 5th place, 11th over the whole league, and were put into the Relegation play-offs against FK Karvan. The Gabala FC 2012–13 season is Gabala's eighth season and seventh Azerbaijan Premier League season. They started the season under manager Fatih Kavlak, who was sacked on 24 September 2012 following a poor run of results and was replaced by Ramiz Mammadov. Mammadov was himself sacked on 2 April 2013 following 5 games without a win, with reserve team manager Luis Aragon taking over in a Caretaker role. Gabala also competed in the Azerbaijan Cup, entering at the Last 16 stage and beating Qaradağ before being eliminated in the Quarterfinals by Qarabağ. The Gabala FC 2011-12 season is Gabala FC's sixth Azerbaijan Premier League season, and their second season under manager Tony Adams. On 16 November 2011, Adams resigned due to family problems. Adams' replacement was announced as Fatih Kavlak. On 23 December Gabala revealed that Serge Djiehoua had terminated his contract with the club and that they are now seeking a new forward. On 7 January 2012, Gabala announced the signing of Yannick Kamanan from Mersin İdmanyurdu on a two-half year deal to replace the recently departed Serge Djiehoua. On 9 January 2012, Gabala and Shakhtar Donetsk announced a partnership that would see the possibility of players being sent on loan to Gabala from Shakhtar. 2009–10 Azerbaijan Premier League
The 2009–10 Azerbaijan Premier League was the eighteenth season of top-tier football in Azerbaijan. It began on 14 August 2009 and finished in May 2010. FK Baku were the defending champions. The league was competed in two stages. The first stage consisted of a regular home-and-away round-robin schedule for a total of 22 matches per team. The competition then split into two halves. However, each team took over to the respective group only records earned against the remaining 5 teams in their second round group. The teams ranked first through sixth played out the championship and the European spots while the bottom six teams had to avoid one of the two relegation places.
