2014–15 Gabala FC Season
The 2014–15 season was Gabala's tenth season overall and ninth competing in the Azerbaijan Premier League. Following the 2013–14 Azerbaijan Cup final, Yuri Semin left the club. On 14 June 2014, Gabala announced Dorinel Munteanu as their new manager, on a one-year contract. On 8 December 2014, Munteanu was relieved of his duties as manager, following four wins in sixteen matches. Sanan Gurbanov was put in temporary charge following the departure of Munteanu, with Roman Hryhorchuk being announced as the club's new permanent manager following the club's 1–1 draw with Inter Baku on 21 December 2014. Gabala FC
Gabala Football Club ( az, Qəbələ Futbol Klubu ), also spelled Qabala, is an Azerbaijani association football club representing Qabala in the Azerbaijan Premier League since 2006. Gabala has been the runner up in the Premier League three times and has won the national cup once, in 2019. Gabala is one of the 2 teams that started the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League for 2 seasons and managed to move on to the group stage. History The club was founded under the name of ''Goy Gol'' on 3 July 1995, based in Goy Gol. On 1 September 2005, Goy Gol was registered in Gabala by the Ministry of Justice, before the AFFA registered the team as professional on 5 September of the same year. Adrian Ropotan (born 8 May 1986) is a Romanian former footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Adrian Ropotan was born in Galați on 8 May 1986, playing his first Divizia A match for Dinamo București on 18 March 2006 in a 2–0 victory against Pandurii Târgu Jiu. In the following season, he played 21 league games under coach Mircea Rednic, helping Dinamo win the 2006–07 Liga I title, also appearing in 8 matches in the UEFA Cup as the team reached the sixteenths-finals where they were eliminated with 3–1 on aggregate by Benfica. Yazalde Gomes Pinto (born 21 September 1988), known simply as Yazalde, is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a forward. He achieved Primeira Liga totals of 162 games and 27 goals for six teams, mainly Rio Ave, and was contracted for several seasons by Braga, who loaned him out for most of that time. Prior to that, Baku played 18 seasons in the Azerbaijan Premier League, winning the championship twice and earning the National Cup three times. The club ceased operations in 2018. Alexandru Constantin Benga (born 15 June 1989) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Liga I club UTA Arad. Career Benga joined Botev Plovdiv on 18 January 2014. On 22 July 2014, Benga signed a one-year contract with Gabala of the Azerbaijan Premier League. Andrei Cristea (; born 15 May 1984) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a forward. Although deployed as a forward, Cristea is better known for his pace and his range of passing instead of his goalscoring abilities, and represented the Romania national team from 2003 to 2010.
