Ali Bapir, A.K.A Mamosta Ali Bapir ( ku, عه‌لی باپیر) is a Kurdish Islamic scholar and politician in Iraqi Kurdistan. He is the founder and current president of the Kurdistan Justice Group (formerly known as the Islamic Group of Kurdistan). He was born in 1961 in the Pshdar district, Iraqi Kurdistan. He has written over 150 books on politics, Islam, society, Kurds, and Kurdistan. He is the most popular politician with the Kurdish Islamism ideology. In the 2009 Iraqi general elections for the Council of Representatives, he was one of the 10 candidates with the most votes in the country. Bapir fought against Saddam Hussein's regime in the 1980s as a Peshmerga fighter. Bapir also notoriously killed his own brother, who worked with Saddam Hussein's regime to kill an IMK member. The Kurdistan Justice Group ( ku, کۆمه‌لی دادگەری کوردستان ''Komelî Dadgerî Kurdistan''), formerly Kurdistan Islamic Group, is a movement in Iraqi Kurdistan established in May 2001 by Ali Bapir, a former leader of the Islamic Movement of Kurdistan. Islamic Emirate Of Byara
The Islamic Emirate of Byara was a short-lived unrecognized Kurdish Islamic state ruled by Sharia law which declared independence from Iraq in 2001 and ended in 2003. Foundation In September 2001, in the Byara District, located in the Avroman region on the Iran–Iraq border, a Kurdish jihadist group called Ansar al-Islam set up the Islamic Emirate of Byara, with the city of Byara as its centre.
