Alfred George Jones (c. February 1861 – c. November 1935) was an English association football, footballer who played as a full back (association football), full back. He was born in Walsall and represented the England national football team three times. Career Jones was born in Walsall and played junior football in the Walsall area before signing with Walsall Swifts F.C., Walsall Swifts, going on to become the club's first player to gain international recognition. His first cap came on 11 March 1882 against Scotland national football team, Scotland. Scotland won the match 5–1, with England's consolation goal coming from Howard Vaughton. Despite the size of the defeat, Jones was retained in defence for the next international match against Wales national football team, Wales two days later. Alfred Gresham Jones
Alfred Gresham Jones (1824–1915) was an Irish architect who moved to Australia after 1888. Jones was born in 1824 in Dublin, and attended the Royal Dublin Society's School of Architectural Drawing in the 1840s and spent time in London and with Irish architect John Skipton Mulvany before beginning his own career. His architect career in Ireland began in the 1850s, and by 1888 he had emigrated to Australia, but it is unclear if he continued his vocation. Alfred Winslow Jones (9 September 1900 – 2 June 1989) was an Australian investor, hedge fund manager, and sociologist. He is credited with forming the first modern hedge fund and is widely regarded as the "father of the hedge fund industry." Alfie Charles Jones (born 7 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender or midfielder for club Hull City. Career Jones grew up in Long Ashton, a small village on the outskirts of Bristol. He attended Backwell School and played at the Southampton Academy in Bath. Alfred Jones (born 2 March 1937) is an English former professional footballer who made 205 appearances in the Football League playing for Leeds United and Lincoln City. He played as a full back. Life and career Jones was born in Liverpool. He played football as an amateur with Lancashire Combination club Marine until signing for Football League Second Division club Leeds United in 1960, initially as an amateur while completing his national service in the Royal Army Medical Corps. Jones made 24 appearances in league and cups in his first season, but in the face of stiff competition at full-back the following year, he only played five games, and joined Lincoln City, newly relegated to the Fourth Division, in June 1962 for a £4,000 fee. Alfred James Jones (4 October 1871 – 7 October 1945) was an Australian politician who served as a Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly, a Member of the Queensland Legislative Council and as Lord Mayor of Brisbane. Alfred Gilpin Jones
Alfred Gilpin Jones, (September 28, 1824 – March 15, 1906) was a Canadian businessman, politician, and eighth Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia. Born in Weymouth, Nova Scotia, the son of Guy Carleton Jones and Frances Jones, he was a merchant and established his own firm, A. G. Jones and Company, in 1872. In 1867, he was elected to the House of Commons of Canada for the riding of Halifax. One of 18 members elected of the Anti-Confederation Party, he became an independent in 1869 and was defeated in 1872. He was re-elected in 1874 but was forced to resign in 1878 due to an alleged breach of the Independence of Parliament Act. He was re-elected in the resulting 1878 by-election and was appointed Minister of Militia and Defence from January to October. He was defeated in the 1878 election and in 1882.
