Air Doll
is a 2009 Japanese drama film directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda. It is based on the manga series ''Kuuki Ningyo'' by Yoshiie Gōda, which was serialized in the seinen manga magazine ''Big Comic Original''. It stars Bae Doona as an inflatable sex doll that develops consciousness and falls in love. ''Air Doll'' debuted in the Un Certain Regard section at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival. It opened in Japanese cinemas on 26 September 2009. Kore-eda said the film is about the loneliness of urban life and the question of what it means to be human. Hirokazu Kore-eda
is a Japanese film director, producer, screenwriter, and editor. He began his career in television and has since directed more than a dozen feature films, including '' Nobody Knows'' (2004), '' Still Walking'' (2008), and '' After the Storm'' (2016). He won the Jury Prize at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival for '' Like Father, Like Son'' and won the Palme d'Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival for ''Shoplifters''. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The weighted arithmetic mean is similar to an ordinary arithmetic mean (the most common type of average), except that instead of each of the data points contributing equally to the final average, some data points contribute more than others.
