The 82901 / 82902 Ahmedabad–Mumbai Central Tejas Express is a train on the Ahmedabad–Mumbai route. It is a semi-high speed, fully air-conditioned train Introduced by Indian Railways connecting Ahmedabad to Mumbai along with six stations named Nadiad, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi, and Borivali. This train is start running from 19 January 2020. The fare of the train will be dynamic. Since its inauguration, this train is India's second private train after Lucknow–New Delhi Tejas Express, both operated by IRCTC. Coach Composition The 82901/82902 Ahmedabad Jn – Mumbai Central Tejas Express presently has 3 AC Executive Chair Car, 8 AC Chair Car coaches along with 2 End-on Generator coaches. The Tejas Express is a semi-high speed fully air-conditioned train introduced by Indian Railways. It features modern onboard facilities with doors which are operated automatically. Tejas means "sharp", "lustre", or "brilliance" in many Indian languages. It is one of 3 semi-high speed trains running in India, the others being the Vande Bharat Express and the Gatimaan Express. The Indian locomotive class WAP-7 is a class of 25 kV AC electric locomotives that was developed in 1999 by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) for Indian Railways. The model name stands for broad gauge (W), AC Current (A), Passenger traffic (P) engine, 7th generation (7). They entered service in 2000. A total of 1424 WAP-7 have been built, with more units being built at CLW, Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) and Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW). Lucknow–New Delhi Tejas Express is one of India's semi-high speed full AC Tejas Express fleet introduced by Indian Railways connecting in Delhi and in Uttar Pradesh. The train started its operations on 4 October 2019, on the occasion of Navaratris. This train is India's first train operated by private operators, IRCTC, a subsidiary of Indian Railways.
