Lucknow–New Delhi Tejas Express
Lucknow–New Delhi Tejas Express is one of India's semi-high speed full AC Tejas Express fleet introduced by Indian Railways connecting in Delhi and in Uttar Pradesh. The train started its operations on 4 October 2019, on the occasion of Navaratris. This train is India's first train operated by private operators, IRCTC, a subsidiary of Indian Railways. Coach composition There are 12 AC Chair Car and they can seat up to 78 passengers each (3+2) configuration and 1 Executive Class coach (in 2+2 configuration). The Executive Class coach has a seating capacity of 56 passengers and adjustable head-rests, arm support and leg support. All doors are centrally controlled. Navaratri is an annual Hindu festival observed in the honour of the goddess Durga. It spans over nine nights (and ten days), first in the month of Chaitra (March/April of the Gregorian calendar), and again in the month of Sharada. The Tejas Express is a semi-high speed fully air-conditioned train introduced by Indian Railways. It features modern onboard facilities with doors which are operated automatically. Tejas means "sharp", "lustre", or "brilliance" in many Indian languages. It is one of 3 semi-high speed trains running in India, the others being the Vande Bharat Express and the Gatimaan Express. History The inaugural run of Tejas Express was on 24 May 2017 from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Maharashtra to Karmali, Goa. It covered 552 km in 8 hours and 30 minutes. LHB Coach
Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coach is a passenger coach of Indian Railways that is developed by Linke-Hofmann-Busch of Germany (renamed Alstom LHB GmbH in 1998 after the takeover by Alstom and now known as Alstom Transport Deutschland) and mostly produced by Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala, India. They have been used since 2000 on the broad gauge network of Indian railways. Initially, 24 air conditioned coaches were imported from Germany for use in the Shatabdi Expresses, after which the Rail Coach Factory started manufacturing after technology transfer.
