Ahmad Khan Madhosh
Ahmad Khan Madhosh ( Sindhi:; ur, ) (b.5 April 1931, d. 26 June 2010) was a famous poet of Sindhi language. Early life He was born at the village of Sultan Chandio near Khairpur Nathan Shah, Dadu District. He was Soomro by caste. He passed the examination of Sindhi final from Johi which was equal to matriculation and joined the profession of teacher. Contribution He was a renowned poet of the Sindhi language and started to create poetry in 1960 and his first poem appeared in the Quarterly Mehran (magazine) by Sindhi Adabi Board Jamshoro Sindh. His two poetry books ''Nazar mein Nazar Band'' and ''Dil Joon Galihiyoon'' were published. Many Sindhi singers, especially, Mumtaz Lashari, Manzoor Sakhirani and others have sung his songs. Sindhi Adabi Board is a government sponsored institution in Pakistan for the promotion of Sindhi literature. It was established in 1955 in Jamshoro, Sindh. It is under the Education Department of the Government of Sindh. Activities The organization has published Sindhi folklore, poetry, lexicography, archaeology and original literary works. These works have included anthologies of poetry works of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Sachal Sarmast, Chen Rai Sami, Khalifo Nabi Bux Laghari, Miyoon Shah Inayat, Hamal Khan Laghari, Talib-ul-Mola and other mystic poets of Sindh. Soomro
Soomro ( sd, سومرو, सूमरो) or Soomra or Sumrah is a tribe having a local origin in Sindh who had later claimed to being either Rajputs or Arabs. They are found in Sindh, parts of Punjab especially bordering Sindh, Balochistan province, and the Kutch district of the Indian state of Gujarat and also Rajasthan. The Soomro tribe established the Soomra dynasty in 1025 CE, which re-established native Sindhi rule over Sindh since the Arab conquests. Many members of the Soomro caste were one of the first in Sindh to convert to Islam from Hinduism but initially continued to maintain several Hindu customs and traditions. Origins Many authors have presented conflicting accounts of Soomro's origins.
