Adnan Aslan
Adnan Aslan (born 1963) is a Turkish Islamic scholar. Biography Aslan was born in Kayseri in central Turkey in 1963 and received his education in both Turkey and England. He completed his BA in theology from Erciyes University in Turkey and received his MA in history and philosophy of religion from King's College London in 1990. He earned his PhD in philosophy of religion from Lancaster University in England in 1995. Aslan worked at a number of universities in Turkey. He has served as the dean of faculty of humanities and social sciences at Süleyman Sah University in Istanbul. Kayseri (; el, Καισάρεια) is a large Industrialisation, industrialised List of cities in Turkey, city in Central Anatolia, Turkey, and the capital of Kayseri Province, Kayseri province. Mount Erciyes ( tr, Erciyes Dağı), also known as Argaeus (Greek: ) is a volcano in Turkey. It is a large stratovolcano surrounded by many monogenetic vents and lava domes, and one maar. The bulk of the volcano is formed by lava flows of andesitic and dacitic composition. At some time in the past, part of the summit collapsed towards the east. The volcano began to form in the Miocene. At first, a volcano farther east named formed from lava flows. Then, again to the east, large explosive eruptions formed a caldera. During the Pleistocene, Mount Erciyes proper grew inside the caldera together with a group of lava domes. Lateral eruptions of Erciyes may have generated ash layers in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean during the early Holocene.
