Adel Yzquierdo Rodríguez
Adel Onofre Yzquierdo Rodríguez (born 12 June 1945) is a Cuban politician and engineer. Early life Yzquierdo Rodríguez studied at the V.V. Kuybyshev Institute of Civil Engineering in Moscow. He has held several positions in the Council of Ministers: Minister of Economy and Planning from 2011 to 2014; First Vice-Minister of Economy and Planning from 26 September 2014 to 9 September 2015; and Minister of Transport from 9 September 2015 to date. Yzquierdo was appointed Vice-President of the Council of Ministers on 20 February 2012. On 18 April 2019, he was elected to the National Assembly of People's Power, representing the municipality of Playa in Havana Havana (; ) is the capital and largest city of Cuba. The heart of La Habana Province, Havana is the country's main port and commercial center.

The Communist Party of Cuba (, PCC) is the sole ruling party of Cuba. It was founded on 3 October 1965 as the successor to the United Party of the Cuban Socialist Revolution, which was in turn made up of the 26th of July Movement and Popular Socialist Party that seized power in Cuba after the 1959 Cuban Revolution. The party governs Cuba as an authoritarian one-party state where dissidence and political opposition are prohibited and repressed. The National Assembly of People's Power () is the supreme organ of power of the Republic of Cuba. It is the only branch of government in the state, and per the principle of unified power, all state organs are subservient to it. It is currently composed of 470 representatives who are elected from multi-member electoral districts for a term of five years called consejos populares. The current president of the Assembly is Esteban Lazo Hernández.
