Ada X, formerly known as Studio XX, is a feminist artist-run centre based in Montreal, Canada. Founded in 1996, it focuses on the promotion and production of new media art by offering workshops, artist residencies and by hosting exhibitions. It operates in French and English. The studio is currently located at 4001 rue Berri in the Plateau-Mont-Royal neighbourhood of Montreal. Canadian artist-run centres (ARC or ARCs) are galleries and art spaces developed by artists in Canada since the 1960s. Artist-run centre is the common term of use for artist-initiated and managed organizations in Canada. Most centres follow the not-for-profit arts organization model, do not charge admission fees, pay artists for their contributions (exhibitions, presentations, performances) are non-commercial and de-emphasize the selling of artwork. Eastern Bloc (art Centre)
Eastern Bloc is an artist-run centre based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, dedicated to digital art. The centre was founded by Eliane Ellbogen and Sandor Poloskei in 2007. Its programming includes meeting with artists (Salon : Data), new media art laboratories, residencies, and the annual Sight and Sound festival. Sight and Sound Festival Sight and Sound is an international festival presenting digital art performances and installations as well as conferences on this subject. CKUT-FM
CKUT-FM is the official campus community radio station of McGill University. It can be heard at 90.3 FM in Montreal. CKUT's FM signal, broadcast from a tower on the top of Mount Royal, reaches as far as the Eastern Townships and upstate New York. CKUT is consistently voted as the Best Radio Station in '' The Montreal Mirror's'', " Cult Montreal" Best of Montreal Readers Poll. La Centrale galerie Powerhouse is an artist-run space in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, founded in 1973. For decades, it was known as the city's only feminist art gallery. History The idea for the gallery grew out of a Consciousness raising, consciousness-raising group that met on a routine basis at a crafts store, Flaming Apron, in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce neighbourhood. Digital art refers to any artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as part of the creative or presentation process, or more specifically computational art that uses and engages with digital media.
