AC Express (Indian Railways)
AC Express trains are fully air-conditioned Superfast Express trains linking major cities in India. They have high priority and are among the fastest trains in India. Though some trains travel at 130 km/h at some sections, most of them are restricted to a speed of 110 km/h. The food is not free in these trains but the bedroll is free for passengers who are traveling by AC Express. The charges of these trains are cheaper than Rajdhani Express, Duronto Express and Humsafar Express also (except Chennai–Thiruvananthapuram AC Superfast Express – with Rajdhani type fare). Some of the AC Express trains have pantry cars for required passengers. The first AC train Nanda Devi AC Express ran on 1 July 2008 with the maximum speed of 125 kmph. Sir M. Superfast Express Trains In India
Express trains are express rail services of India. Express trains make a small number of stops, unlike ordinary passenger or local trains. Because of their limited stops, these trains are able to obtain the highest speeds of any trains in India. An express train is one where the average speed, excluding halts, is greater than 42 km/h. Including halts the average speed often is below 42 km/h. Although this is pretty slow as compared to international standards, the "Express" trains here mean faster than the ordinary passenger and local trains. In some cases, trains run express where there is an overlapping passenger train service available, and run as passenger train, where there is no supplemental passenger service. Superfast Superfast trains are express trains which make still fewer stops, as compared to ordinary express trains, achieving still shorter journey times. Shri Shakti AC Express
The 22461/22462 ''Shri Shakti Express'' is an AC Superfast Express run by Indian Railways between and railway stations in India. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on 4 July 2014 flagged off this train from Katra Vaishno Devi while commissioning the 25-km-long Udhampur-Katra line, built at an estimated cost of Rs 1,132.75 crore. At the function, the Prime Minister had named the train Shri Shakti Express and said such services are planned from major cities in the country. The Vaishno Devi shrine attracts about 10 million pilgrims annually. The Train started its regular commercial operations from July 14, 2014. The train connectivity to Katra is part of the ambitious Kashmir rail link project marking region's rail connectivity with the rest of the country.
