A1 Team India was the Indian team of A1 Grand Prix, an international racing series. Management The seatholder for Team India was former Formula One driver Narain Karthikeyan. Argo racing Cars Ltd. were the Technical Servicer Provider for A1 Team India in Season 4. The UK based team was founded by David Sears and was best known for competing in GP2, and many other single-seater championships. David Sears’ experience lay not only in single-seaters, but in almost all other forms of motorsport. He is considered one of the most widely experienced team principals in recent decades. Gordon Flynn was the team manager, and Greg Wheeler was the team's race engineer. Yohann Setna had been involved with A1 Team India since the first season and stood as Sporting Director this year. Narain Karthikeyan
Kumar Ram Narain Karthikeyan (born 14 January 1977) is an Indian racing driver. He was the first Indian driver to compete in Formula One. He has previously competed in A1GP, and the Le Mans Series. He has won multiple races in A1GP, British F3, World series by Nissan, AutoGP, Formula Asia, British Formula Ford & Opel series in his single-seater career. He won the British Formula Ford Winter Series in 1994 & Formula Asia Championship in 1996. He also finished fourth overall in British F3 in 2000 & the World Nissan series in 2003. He made his Formula One debut in with the Jordan team, and was a Williams F1 test driver in and . Like several other former F1 drivers, Karthikeyan moved to stock car racing and drove the No. 60 Safe Auto Insurance Company Toyota Tundra for Wyler Racing in the 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Akbar Ebrahim
Akbar Ebrahim (born 14 December 1963) is an accomplished Indian motorsports driver. He is the first Indian to take part in an international race when he participated in the Formula 2 Britain. He is currently the President of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India from September 2020. Ebrahim is also the head oif the international Karting Commission, the CIK of FIA. In 1988, Karivardhan, considered as one of the stalwarts of Indian Motorsports, built the first Indian Formula car, with a Maruti 800cc engine. And the inaugural race was won by Akbar Ebrahim. Later, the championship was named as FISSME, Formula India Single Seater Maruti Engine. The first FISSME race was held at Sholavaram and the next year in 1989, the legendary Jackie Stewart laid the foundation for the racing track at Irungattukottai, which is presently known as Madras International Circuit. Arena Motorsport
Arena International Motorsport was a British motor racing team founded by Mike Earle. Earle originally ran the Onyx Formula One team from the same base in Littlehampton, before selling the team. At the end of 2012 the team's new owners, Capsicum Racing Limited, placed the company into CVA. Earle also created 3001 International and Grand Prix Design, which later morphed into Arena International Motorsport. The team made their racing debut in the British Touring Car Championship in 1999, where they ran for many years before moving to become a factory-supported Zytek sports car team in the Le Mans Series in 2007. They returned to the BTCC running the Team Aon operation, until switching to the World Touring Car Championship for the 2012 season. The 2005–06 A1 Grand Prix of Nations, United States of America was an A1 Grand Prix race, held on the weekend of March 12, 2006 at Laguna Seca. Report The first American stop for the A1GP (and so far only) was doomed to fail from the start. The race was announced before Laguna Seca announced it. There was little to no advertisement for the event, and very few fans of European open wheel racing in America even knew about the event. Due to constant rain, the A1GP weekend was canceled by the track a week before the race. The rain stopped, but the ground was still soaked to the point that most of the parking lots were closed in fear of vehicles getting stuck in the mud. Laguna Seca is located just a few miles from the Monterey Bay, and is at an elevation of about 750 feet. The weather chased away more fans as snow fell on Friday night.
