The 2005–06 A1 Grand Prix of Nations, Portugal was an A1 Grand Prix race, held on the weekend of October 23, 2005 at the Autódromo do Estoril circuit. Report Practice Friday was affected by inclement weather, which saw the morning test sessions and practice held in wet conditions due to rain. Local star Álvaro Parente set the quickest time in the first test session, one of two additional timed 40 minute runs that allowed teams to obtain the best set ups on their cars. Parente set a time of 1'54.918, but this was soon eclipsed by series leaders Brazil as Nelson Piquet Jr. set a 1'51.916 during the second test. Basil Shaaban
Basil Shaaban (born 27 March 1980 in Beirut) is a Lebanese racing driver. Early racing Shaaban began racing in Lebanon at the age of 14 at the Circuit des Champions karting center near Brummana. Eventually, he worked his way up to driving 100 cc 2-stroke karts. Racing in university While a student at University of California, Berkeley, Shaaban bought a 100 cc kart from Trackmagic and began racing in the Northern California region alongside his studies. Over the next few years he won several races. Shaaban graduated with a bachelor degree in astrophysics from Berkeley. A1 Team Lebanon was the Lebanese team of A1 Grand Prix, a former international racing series. Management A1 Team Lebanon's owner is Tameem Auchi. History Daniel Morad became the race driver for A1 Team Lebanon for the 2008-09 season. Although having previously driven in rookie sessions for A1 Team Canada, his Canadian-Lebanese heritage allowed him to switch nationalities, as he had not yet made his race debut. Johannes Franciscus Verstappen (; born 4 March 1972) is a former (Formula One) racing driver. Verstappen was the German Formula Three champion and Masters of Formula Three winner in 1993. Robbie Kerr
Robert "Robbie" Kerr (born 26 September 1979 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire) is a British racing driver. In 2002, Kerr won the British Formula 3 championship. Career Early career In 2002 he became the British Formula Three Champion for Alan Docking Racing with 306 points ahead of Australian racing driver James Courtney. Following an abortive attempt at International Formula 3000 in 2003, Kerr did not race again until 2004 when he raced in the Formula Renault V6 Eurocup. At the opening round at Monza Kerr had earned pole position but mechanical problems forced him out. He eventually won a race at the last race of the season in Valencia. He had not led the race until he took the lead on the last lap. Kerr has also raced in the Le Mans Endurance Series.
