8th Combined Arms Army
The 8th Guards Combined Arms Army (abbreviated 8th GCAA) is an army of the Russian Ground Forces, headquartered in Novocherkassk, Rostov Oblast, within Russia′s Southern Military District, that was formed in 2017. Andrei Sychevoi
Andrei Sychevoi (born May 16, 1969) is a Russian military officer and Lieutenant General of the Russian Armed Forces. Commander of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army in February 2022. On 20 July 2022 during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Sergei Shoigu, the Minister of Defence of Russia, appointed Sychevoi commander of Russian forces of the Western Military District, replacing Colonel General Alexander Zhuravlyov, who was removed after the initial phases of the war. 2022 Chornobaivka Attacks
The 2022 Chornobaivka attacks were a series of Ukrainian attacks against the Russian-held Kherson International Airport at Chornobaivka, which began on 27 February 2022 during the southern Ukraine campaign of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Chornobaivka, located in Ukraine's Kherson Oblast, saw dozens of attacks on Russian positions by the Ukrainian Armed Forces following a bombing and takeover by the Russian Armed Forces of the town's airport. According to Ukraine, these attacks resulted in the death of the Russian general Yakov Rezantsev of the 49th Combined Arms Army on 24 March. Oleg Yuryevich Mityaev (russian: Олег Юрьевич Митяев; born 1974-death 15 March 2022) is a Russian major-general who according to Ukrainian officials was killed during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine on 15 March 2022. 150th Rifle Division
The 150th Idritsa-Berlin Order of Kutuzov 2nd Class Motor Rifle Division (russian: Russian: 150-я Идрицко-Берлинская ордена Кутузова 2-й степени мотострелковая дивизия) of the Russian Ground Forces is a tank and artillery division that was re-instituted in 2016. It is part of the 8th Guards Army that was re-instituted in 2017. Its Red Army predecessor fought on the Eastern Front of World War II from 1941 to 1945.
