The 2022 Limerick Senior Hurling Championship was the 128th staging of the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Limerick GAA, Limerick County Board in 1887 Limerick Senior Hurling Championship, 1887. The draws for the group stage pairings took place on 22 February 2022. The championship ran from 28 July to October 2022. Kilmallock GAA, Kilmallock entered the championship as the 2021 Limerick Senior Hurling Championship, defending champions. Blackrock GAA (Limerick), Blackrock were relegated after three years of top tier hurling. Ballyagran () is a village and townland in County Limerick, Ireland. As of the 2016 census, the village had a population of 179 people. Na Piarsaigh are a hurling and Gaelic football club based in the north side of Cork City, Ireland. History Formation In 1943 a group of idealistic young men drawn mostly from the hurling nursery of North Mon laid the foundations of Cumann Iomana & Peile Na Piarsaigh. The group had its first formal meeting in the presbytery of the North Cathedral. The young men called upon one of their teachers, Donnacha Ó Murchú, for guidance and assistance. This led to him becoming the first ''Uachtarán'' residentof the club, with Derry Terry serving as ''Runaí'' ecretaryand Paddy Sutton as ''Cisteoir'' reasurer In choosing a name for the club the members sought one which would reflect their aims and ideals. Caherline GAA (Irish: ''Cathair Laighin'') is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in County Limerick, Ireland. It is based in the parish of Caherline/Caherconlish in the east division of Limerick GAA. History The club was founded in 1884, making it one of the oldest clubs in county Limerick. The early years of the club were its most successful, winning the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship on three occasions; 1896, 1905 and 1907. Caherline also lost four county finals in this period; 1889, 1898 (when a lack of crowd control caused the match to be abandoned), 1908 and 1916. Newcastle West GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Newcastle West, County Limerick, Ireland. The club was founded in 1887 and fields teams in hurling and Gaelic football. History Caisleain Nua Thiar Gaa Club was founded in 1897. Its early years were lean as Newcastle West did not emerge until 1908, when it reached the Senior final with Kilmallock, losing 2-08 to 0-3. Newcastle West footballers were still playing senior football through the 1900s up to 1928, where Glin beat them in the west final of that year by 0-12 to 0-01. As a hurling club, they had no success prior to World War I. Claughaun Gaelic Athletic Club ( ga, CLG Chlochán) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club within Limerick GAA, based in St Brigid's parish on the southside of Limerick City, Ireland. The club was founded in 1902, in the Poulin/Pennywell area of St John's parish. It has considerable success over the years in both hurling and Gaelic football. Adare GAA
Adare GAA club is a GAA club based in Adare, County Limerick, Republic of Ireland. Adare have reached the County Senior Hurling Final on 12 occasions. After losing the finals of 1968, 1986, 1990, 1993 and 1996, they finally won their first championship in 2001 and successfully defended it in 2002. In 2003, they narrowly missed out on winning three county titles in a row after losing out to Patrickswell in the final. Doon GAA
Doon GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club, founded in 1888. It is based in the village of Doon in County Limerick, Ireland. The club is part of the East Division of the Limerick GAA and has a tremendous record at underage level, but has yet to win a County Senior Hurling Championship. The club only plays hurling, but footballers in the parish play with neighbouring Oola. The manager is Austin Buckley.
