2015–16 MRF Challenge Formula 2000 Championship
The 2015–2016 MRF Challenge Formula 2000 Championship was the fourth running of the MRF Challenge Formula 2000 Championship. It began on 31 October 2015 at Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi and finished on 31 January 2016 at the Madras Motor Racing Track, India. The series comprised 14 races, spread across four meetings, with the second round in Sakhir being a support event to the FIA World Endurance Championship. MRF Challenge
MRF Challenge is an open-wheel motorsport formula based in India organized by Madras Motor Sports Club. This was India's first and only FIA FIA is the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (English: International Automobile Federation), the world's governing body for all forms of motor sport where four or more wheels are used. Fia or FIA may also refer to: People * Fia Backst ... approved and inscribed international series. This was promoted as a Winter series where young and upcoming racing drivers could get valuable seat and track time during the off-season months in competitive tracks in Asia. This was supported by MRF Ltd in its entirety and was a unique concept of "Arrive and Drive" which meant that the drivers would not have the hassle of making all arrangements. Sebastian Balthasar
Sebastian Balthasar (Cologne, Germany, 30 August 1996) is a German racing driver. Career Karting Balthasar started his racing career in the 2009 karting season. He became third in the Rotax Max Challenge Germany. A year later he entered the Ciao Thomas Knopper Memorial, the ADAC Kart Championship, the German Junior Kart Championship and the 21° Trofeo Andrea Margutti, with a tenth place as his best result. He continued karting throughout 2011 and '12, again entering the German Junior Karts, besides racing in the DMV Kart Championship and the Euro Wintercup. Formula racing Balthasar made the switch to formula racing in 2012, when he entered the ADAC Formel Masters, as the teammate of Alessio Picariello, which he would race again in 2014. The Dubai Autodrome is an FIA sanctioned motorsports circuit located in Dubailand, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The architects of the project were Populous and the circuit was designed by Clive Bowen of Apex Circuit Design. Opened in October 2004 with the final round of the LG Super Racing Weekend featuring the final rounds of the FIA GT Championship, European Touring Car Championship and 2004 Formula Renault V6 Eurocup season, Dubai Autodrome was the first part of the Dubai Motor City development that was available for use. Sakhir ( ) is a desert area located in the Southern Governorate of Bahrain, near Zallaq. It contains the Al-Sakhir Palace, built in 1870.
