The Copa del Rey de Baloncesto (English language, English: ''Spanish monarchy, King's Cup of Basketball'') is an annual cup competition for Spain, Spanish basketball teams organized by Spain's top professional league, the Liga ACB. History Originally known as the ''Copa de España de Baloncesto'', was first played in 1933 and contested in its first editions only by teams from the provinces of Community of Madrid, Madrid and Province of Barcelona, Barcelona. It was the first nationwide basketball competition played in Spain. During the Francoist Spain, Francoism, it was referred to as the ''Copa del Generalísimo de Baloncesto'', before becoming the ''Copa del Rey de Baloncesto'' in 1977. Albert Oliver Campos (born June 4, 1978) is a Spanish professional basketball player who last played for Obradoiro of the Liga ACB. Standing at , he plays at the point guard position. Javier Salgado Martín, more commonly known as Javi Salgado, is a retired Spanish professional basketball player. Early career After being formed at Maristas school in Bilbao, Salgado started his career at SD Patronato in 1998. The next year, he signed with Baloncesto León, to play in the club's reserve team (Elmar León), in the Liga EBA, in that time the Spanish third division. Professional career In 2001, Salgado joined the newly created team in his native town: Bilbao Basket. With this team, he would go on to play during the next ten seasons, in three different level leagues on the Spanish basketball league system: LEB Plata, LEB Oro, and Liga ACB, playing also in two EuroCup semifinals, in 2009 and 2010. Axel Marie Gustave Hervelle (born 12 May 1983) is a Belgian former professional basketball player. He represented the senior Belgian national basketball team. Professional career Hervelle spent the early part of his career in Belgium. He first played with Verviers-Pepinster in the Belgian League for four years, averaging 11.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game, in 16 Belgian League games during the 2003–04 season, and becoming the team's captain at only 20 years old.
