The 2009–10 synchronized skating season began on July 1, 2009, and ended on June 30, 2010. Brompton is a borough of the city of Sherbrooke, Quebec. The borough comprises the former city of Bromptonville, which was amalgamated into the city of Sherbrooke on January 1, 2002. Prior to December 30, 1998, "Brompton" referred to a township municipality which occupied some of the territory of the modern-day borough of Brompton. Canadian Synchronized Skating Championships
The Canadian Synchronized Skating Championships are annual synchronized skating events, sanctioned by the Skate Canada, held to determine the national champions of Canada. They were first held in 1983. Since 2000, it is during these events that the senior teams can qualify for the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships. Finnish Synchronized Skating Championships
The Finnish Synchronized Skating Championships is an annual synchronized skating competition, sanctioned by the Finnish Figure Skating Association, held to determine the national champions of Finland. It was first held in 1991. The teams compete at novice, junior and senior levels. At the senior level, the teams qualifying for the World Championships (WSSC) have been selected based on their performance at two qualifiers held before the championships and the national championships. For example, in the 2012–13 season, the teams were selected as follows: the Finnish Champion qualified automatically as Team Finland 1 for the WSSC.
