2raumwohnung (; meaning "2-Room Apartment") are a German electro-pop duo that was formed in 2000 in Berlin. Its two members are singer, Inga Humpe, and her life partner, Tommi Eckart. They reached the high point of their career to date with the album "36 Grad" ("36 Degrees"), which remained in the German music charts for a total of 33 weeks. Their most successful single has been the album's eponymous title song. 2raumwohnung have also appeared internationally, e.g. at Expo 2010 and as a DJ team. Inga Humpe
Inga Humpe (born January 13, 1956) is a German singer, songwriter and producer. She performed with Neue Deutsche Welle bands such as Neonbabies, DÖF and Humpe & Humpe. Her sister is the singer and producer Annette Humpe, with whom she performed regularly during her career. The song "Riding into Blue (Cowboy Song)" produced by Trevor Horn became a minor hit in 1990. Later that year she released a solo studio album ''Planet Oz''. She currently is in the band 2raumwohnung and lives in Berlin. Career In 1979 Humpe founded the band Neonbabies together with her sister Annette in Berlin. In 1981 the band released a self-titled album featuring Inga on lead-vocals. Her sister left to form the band Ideal prior to the release. After two further German-language albums, the band folded in 1983. Peter Plate
Peter Plate (born 1 July 1967) is a German musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. Between 1991 and 2012, he was the keyboardist and occasional vocalist of Rosenstolz, a German pop duo that had chart hits in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Early life Peter Plate was born on 1 July 1967 in New Delhi, where his grandfather was a diplomat, and came to Germany at the age of three, spending his childhood first in Hamburg and then in Goslar. He learnt to play the electronic organ during his youth and wrote a musical with friends at the age of 17. As a young adult, he moved to Braunschweig, where he did his civilian service in a retirement home. The Goldene Stimmgabel (English: Golden Tuning Fork) was an annual prize awarded within the German music scene from 1981 to 2007. The prizes were awarded according to the number of records sold from October of the previous year to June of the year of the award, as determined by Media Control. It was established in 1981 by Dieter Thomas Heck, who hosted the television gala award show every year since then. It was broadcast on either ARD or ZDF until the year 2000. From 2001 to 2007 the award show was broadcast by ZDF alone. In 2008, ZDF decided not to present the award and did not announce whether they would be resumed later, discontinued, or replaced with another award.
