2024 SciAps 200
The 2024 SciAps 200 was the 16th stock car race of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series, and the 30th iteration of the event. The race was held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire, a permanent asphalt oval shaped racetrack. The race was originally scheduled to be contested over 200 laps, but was increased to 203 laps due to a NASCAR overtime finish. In a wild finish, Christopher Bell, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, would take the lead from the dominating Cole Custer on the final restart, and held off his teammate Sheldon Creed on the final lap to earn his 18th career NASCAR Xfinity Series win, and his first of the season. New Hampshire Motor Speedway is a Oval track racing, oval speedway located in Loudon, New Hampshire, which has hosted NASCAR racing annually since 1990, as well as the longest-running motorcycle race in North America, the Loudon Classic. Nicknamed "The Magic Mile", the speedway is often converted into a road course, which includes much of the oval. Green–white–checker Finish
In North American auto racing, a green–white–checker finish (GWC) is a racing restart procedure one in which the race is restarted from a caution period with 2 laps remaining. When the race distance is extended to accommodate such a finish, it is also sometimes known as an overtime finish. The name alludes to three racing flags: * green flag: shown to start or restart the race. * white flag: shown at the start of the last lap * checkered flag: shown at the finish of the race The prescribed number of final laps is usually two. If a caution flag is shown within the specified number of laps of the scheduled finish, then the number of remaining laps will not be decremented until the green flag is shown again. The exact provisions vary between organizations. Jesse Love Jr. (born January 14, 2005) is an American stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the ARCA Menards Series in Venturini Motorsports's No. 20 Toyota, excluding 6 events. Sam A. Mayer (born June 26, 2003) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro for JR Motorsports, a team in which he is also a development driver for through their Drivers Edge Development program. Mayer is the 2019 and 2020 East Series champion.
