2023–24 I-League 2
2023–24 I-League 2 is the 16th season of the I-League 2 since its establishment in 2008. It is also the 2nd season as the third tier of the Indian football league system. The top two clubs on the league table will secure a place in the 2024–25 I-League season. This is the league's first edition, where the clubs have been reinstated from the previous season after approval from the league committee on 13 January 2023. 2022–23 I-League
The 2022–23 I-League (also known as Hero I-League for sponsorship reasons) is the 16th season of I-League, the second tier of Indian football league system. It is played from 12th November 2022 to March 2023. Changes from last season Disbanded clubs * Indian Arrows Reinstated clubs *Kenkre FC: After being relegated at the end of the 2021–22 I-League season, Kenkre was allowed to participate this season. The closure of the Indian Arrows project played a major part in their reinstatement. The conditions for their reinstatement were an agreement to take in several Arrows players and no travel subsidy for away matches. Changes in format Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament's format was shortened for the last two seasons. Kharghar is a node of Navi Mumbai and it is a suburb under Panvel Municipal Corporation. It is situated at the northernmost tip of Raigad district. I-League 3, or 3rd Division League, is a men's professional football league in India. It forms the fourth tier of the Indian football league system, below the I-League 2 and above the State leagues. History For the first time, the AIFF introduced Qualifiers for I-League 2 in the 2022–23 season. On 13 June 2023, the AIFF league committee announced introducing a new league below the I-League 2, where champions of State leagues and nominated clubs will play.
