2022–23 Radford Highlanders Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Radford Highlanders men's basketball team represented Radford University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Highlanders, led by second-year head coach Darris Nichols, played their home games at the Dedmon Center in Radford, Virginia, as members of the Big South Conference. Previous season The Highlanders finished the 2021–22 season 11–18, 7–9 in Big South play to finish in a tie for third place in the North Division. In the Big South tournament, they were defeated by North Carolina A&T in the first round. Darris Nichols
Darris Nichols (born May 20, 1986) is an American basketball coach and former player who is currently the head coach at Radford University, a role he has held since 2021. Playing career College Nichols played college basketball at West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball, West Virginia, where he was a four-year letterman who played in 144 games during his four-year career. Professional After going undrafted out of college, Nichols went on to play professionally for Atomerőmű SE, a professional team in Hungary for one season that went 10-1 and won the Hungarian cup before suffering a knee injury that ended his playing career. 2022–23 Marquette Golden Eagles Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Marquette Golden Eagles men's basketball team represented Marquette University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team is led by second-year head coach Shaka Smart and plays their home games at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a member of the Big East Conference. The Eagles finished the season 29–7, 17–3 in Big East play to win the regular season championship. They defeated St. John's, UConn, and Xavier to win the Big East tournament. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 2 seed in the East region. Mary Baldwin University (MBU, formerly Mary Baldwin College) is a private university in Staunton, Virginia. It was founded in 1842 as Augusta Female Seminary.
