2022 Texas Tech Red Raiders Baseball Team
The 2022 Texas Tech Red Raiders baseball team represented Texas Tech University during the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Red Raiders played their home games at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park and competed as members of the Big 12 Conference. They were led by tenth-year head coach Tim Tadlock. Previous season The 2021 team finished the regular season with a record of 35–13, 14–10 in Big 12 play, finishing in third place in the conference. The team went 1–2 in the Big 12 tournament, defeating Baylor in game one, but lost to eventual tournament winner TCU in game two and lost to Kansas State in the elimination game. In the NCAA tournament, the team hosted the Lubbock Regional, winning the regional 3–0. The team advanced to the Lubbock Super Regional, being swept by Stanford, finishing the season with an overall record of 39–17. Tim Tadlock
Tim Tadlock (born December 21, 1968) is a collegiate baseball coach and former player. He served as head coach of the Grayson Vikings representing Grayson County College (GCC) (1997–2005) and the Texas Tech Red Raiders representing Texas Tech University (2013–present). Tadlock guided the Grayson Vikings to back-to-back National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I World Series titles in 1999 and 2000. In 2014, Tadlock led his alma mater to their first College World Series appearance and received the Skip Bertman Award, presented to the college baseball coach of the year by the College Baseball Foundation. Early years Tadlock was a two-time all-district baseball player while attending Denton High School in Denton, Texas. Globe Life Field is a retractable roof stadium in Arlington, Texas. It is the home ballpark of Major League Baseball's Texas Rangers. It is located just south of Choctaw Stadium, the Rangers' former home ballpark. History Background On May 20, 2016, the Rangers announced that they would vacate Globe Life Park. The 2022 Michigan Wolverines baseball team represented the University of Michigan in the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Wolverines, led by head coach Erik Bakich in his tenth season, are a member of the Big Ten Conference and played their home games at Wilpon Baseball Complex in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Jace Jung
Jace Andrew Jung (born October 4, 2000) is an American baseball second baseman in the Detroit Tigers organization. He played college baseball for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Early life and amateur career Jung grew up in San Antonio, Texas and attended Douglas MacArthur High School. Jung enrolled at Texas Tech University to play college baseball for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Jung batted .264 through 19 games games of his true freshman season before it was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic. As a redshirt freshman, Jung and was named the Big 12 Conference Baseball Player of the Year after batting for a .337 average with 21 home runs and 67 RBIs.
