2022 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic
The 2022 Curlers Corner Autumn Gold Curling Classic was held from October 28 to 31 at the Calgary Curling Club in Calgary, Alberta. The event was held in a triple-knockout format with a purse of $44,000. In the final, South Korea's Gim Eun-ji rink won their second event title of the season, defeating Switzerland's Michèle Jäggi 8–2 in an all-international final. After taking two in the first end, the Korean rink opened up a four-point lead with a steal of two in the second end. The teams then traded singles through the next three ends with Team Gim continuing a three-point lead. Kaitlyn Lawes
Lesley Kaitlyn Lawes (born December 16, 1988) is a Canadian curler. Lawes was the long time third for the Jennifer Jones team that represented Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics where they won the gold medal. They were the first women's team to go through the Olympics undefeated and the first Manitoba based curling team to win at the Olympics. Lawes curled with John Morris in the mixed doubles event at the 2018 Winter Olympics where they won gold. This win made her and Morris the first Canadian curlers to win two Olympic gold medals, and Lawes was the first to win gold in two consecutive Olympics. Lawes was a member of the world champion team as a third at the 2018 Ford World Women's Curling Championship, where the team went through the event undefeated. Madison Bear (born April 26, 1997) is an American curler from Portage, Wisconsin. As a junior curler, Bear was a two-time United States champion and a World runner-up. Career Bear first competed at the United States Junior Curling Championship in 2015, as skip of a team consisting of Jenna Burchesky at third, Allison Howell at second and Annmarie Dubberstein at lead. Despite being newcomers on the national stage, Team Bear made it to the finals where they lost to defending champion Cory Christensen. The following season, Bear joined Christensen's team as lead. Kaitlyn Jones (born March 21, 1998) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Career Juniors Born in Thompson, Manitoba, Jones curled out of Chilliwack, British Columbia, New Aiyansh, British Columbia and Ontario before moving to Regina, Saskatchewan, where she competed in Saskatchewan's provincial junior championships in 2015, 2016 and 2017, winning in a provincial title in her last attempt. Mackenzie Elias (born October 3, 2000, in Winnipeg) is a Canadian curler from East St. Paul, Manitoba. She currently plays lead on Team Kate Cameron. Sara Oliver (born July 8, 1996) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg. She currently plays lead on Team Jolene Campbell. She is a former World Mixed Curling Champion. Career Juniors Oliver skipped teams at both the 2014 and 2015 Manitoba Junior Curling Championships going 4–3 in both years, and losing in a tiebreaker in 2015. In 2015, Oliver joined the Abby Ackland junior rink, playing lead on the team.
