2022 Copa Paraguay
The 2022 Copa Paraguay was the fourth edition of the Copa Paraguay, Paraguay's domestic association football, football cup competition organized by the Paraguayan Football Association (APF). The competition began on 10 May and ended on 10 November 2022, with the winners qualifying for the 2023 Copa Sudamericana as well as the 2022 Supercopa Paraguay against the 2022 Paraguayan Primera División season, Primera División champions with better record in the aggregate table. Sportivo Ameliano won their first Copa Paraguay title, beating Club Nacional, Nacional on penalty kicks after a 1–1 draw in regular time in the final. Club Olimpia, Olimpia were the defending champions, but were defeated by Club Libertad, Libertad in the round of 16. Paraguayan División Intermedia
The División Intermedia ( en, Intermediate Division), also known as the Segunda División ( en, Second Division), is the second tier professional football league in Paraguay. It is organized by the Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol. Overview Since 1910 the second division tournaments have changed rules, number of teams and names. As of 2006, División Intermedia is the name for the second division and 16 teams are part of it. The champion and the runner-up of this league gains the right to participate in the Liga Paraguaya: Primera División, the Paraguay's top division of football. Club Deportivo Santaní, is a Paraguayan football club based in the city of San Estanislao, locally known as ''Santaní''. The club was founded February 27, 2009 and plays in División Intermedia, the second division in the Paraguayan football league system. Atyrá F
Atyrá is one of the oldest cities of Paraguay, alongside Yaguarón, Villarrica, Encarnación, Pilar, San Lorenzo, Humaitá among others. Atyrá is 61 KM East from the country's capital, Asunción, located in the Altos Cordillera, as it is part of the Cordillera Department, in Central Paraguay. Original name and founding Atyrá, initially named Atyhá, was founded by the governor Domingo Martínez de Irala in 1538. The word "Atyhá" is of Guaraní origin. Club Atlético Colegiales, known as Atlético Colegiales or simply Colegiales, is a football club from the Cuatro Mojones neighborhood in Lambaré, Paraguay, founded in 1977 by the Zacarías family. The team currently plays in División Intermedia, the second division in the Paraguayan football league system. History The Zacarías family named the team "Colegiales" (which basically means "students") after their chain of bookstores called "El Colegio" (The College). The team entered the first division in 1982. Club Atlético 3 de Febrero is a professional Paraguayan football club from Ciudad del Este, the capital city of the department of Alto Paraná. Tacuary
Tacuary Football Club is a Paraguayan First Division football team, based in the neighborhood of Jara, Asunción. The club was founded in 1923. Tacuary qualified for the Copa Libertadores tournament twice (in 2005 and 2007) and the Copa Sudamericana twice (in 2007 and 2012). In 2013 it returned to the Paraguayan Segunda División. In the 2021 season of Paraguay's División Intermedia, Tacuary finished in 3rd and was promoted to the Primera División. Club Sol de América is a Paraguayan sports club, mostly known for its football team. The club is located in Barrio Obrero, Paraguay, and it was founded in 1909.
