2021 BWF World Tour Finals
The 2021 BWF World Tour Finals (officially known as the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2021 for sponsorship reasons) was the final tournament of the 2021 BWF World Tour. It was held from 1 to 5 December 2021 in Bali, Indonesia and had a total prize of $1,500,000. Tournament The 2021 BWF World Tour Finals was the fourth edition of the BWF World Tour Finals and was organized by Badminton Association of Indonesia with sanction from the BWF. The BWF World Tour Finals, officially HSBC BWF World Tour Finals, which succeeds BWF Super Series Finals, is an annual badminton tournament which is held every December of a year where the players with the most points from that calendar year's events of the BWF World Tour compete for total prize money of at least US$ 1,500,000. The men's singles badminton tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place from 24 July to 2 August 2021 at the Musashino Forest Sport Plaza at Tokyo. A total of 41 players from 36 nations actually competed at the tournament. Viktor Axelsen of Denmark won his first Olympic gold, defeating defending Olympic champion Chen Long from China. Huang Dongping (; born 30 April 1995) is a Chinese badminton player. She is the reigning mixed doubles Olympic Champion, and was two-time mixed doubles Asian Champion winning in 2018 and 2019. Career Huang competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics partnering with Wang Yilyu as the second seeds. The duo won a gold medal after beating their compatriots Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong in the final in a close rubber game. Wang Yilyu (; ; born 8 November 1994), sometimes also transliterated as Wang Yilu, Wang Yilv or Wang Yilü, is a Chinese badminton player. Chen Yufei
Chen Yufei (; born 1 March 1998) is a Chinese badminton player. She is the reigning Olympic champion. She won the girls' singles junior titles at the 2016 Asian and the World Junior Championships. At the same year, Chen clinched her first senior title at the Macau Open. She was awarded as the 2017 Eddy Choong Most Promising Player of the Year. On 17 December 2019, she reached a career-high BWF World Ranking as world number 1. Career 2014–2016 Chen Yufei started playing in international level from the year 2013, being aged only 15. BWF World Ranking
The BWF World Ranking is the official ranking of the Badminton World Federation for badminton players who participate in tournaments sanctioned by Badminton World Federation. It is used to determine the qualification for the World Championships and Summer Olympic Games, as well as BWF World Tour tournaments. Seedings of draws at all BWF-sanctioned tournaments are conducted using the BWF World Ranking. Players under 19 years of age are eligible to rank in the BWF World Junior Ranking, which were introduced in January 2011.
