2020 Arizona Senate Election
The 2020 Arizona Senate elections took place as part of the wikt:biennial, biennial 2020 2020 United States elections, United States elections. Arizona voters will elect state senators in all of the state's 30 senate districts. State senators serve two-year terms in the Arizona Senate, with all of the seats up for election each cycle. The primary elections on August 4, 2020, determined which candidates appeared on the November 3, 2020, general election ballot. Arizona Senate
The Arizona State Senate is part of the Arizona Legislature, the state legislature of the US state of Arizona. The Senate consists of 30 members each representing an average of 219,859 constituents (2009 figures). Members serve two-year terms with term limits that limit Senators to four terms for a total of eight years. Members of the Republican Party are currently the majority in the Senate. There is currently 16 women serving in the Senate after Raquel Terán was appointed, making it the first time a majority of the body was composed of female members. As with the Arizona House of Representatives, members to the Senate are elected from the same legislative districts as House members, however one Senator represents the constituency, while for the House there are two Representatives per district. Franklin M. Pratt (August 27, 1942 – September 21, 2021) was an American politician who served as a Republican member of the Arizona State Senate.
