2019–20 CAF Champions League Knockout Stage
The 2019–20 CAF Champions League knockout stage began on 28 February with the quarter-finals and ended on 27 November 2020 with the 2020 CAF Champions League Final, final to decide the champions of the 2019–20 CAF Champions League. A total of eight teams competed in the knockout stage. Times are Greenwich Mean Time, GMT as listed by CAF (local times, even if not different, are in parentheses). 2020 CAF Champions League Final
The 2020 CAF Champions League Final, known as The Final of the Century was the final of the 2019–20 CAF Champions League, the 56th edition of Africa's premier club football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and the 24th edition under the current CAF Champions League title. For the first time, the final was played as a single match at a venue pre-selected by CAF. It was originally scheduled to be played on 29 May 2020 at the Japoma Stadium in Douala, Cameroon. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the match was postponed and Cameroon decided to withdraw from hosting. Instead, the final was played on 27 November 2020 at the Cairo International Stadium in Cairo, Egypt. The final featured two Egyptian clubs, Al-Ahly and Zamalek, which made this the first CAF Champions League final to feature two clubs from the same country, as well as the first final to feature two clubs from the same city. The Congolese Association Football Federation (french: Fédération Congolaise de Football-Association, FECOFA) is the governing body of Football (soccer), football in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Cairo International Stadium
The Cairo International Stadium ( ar, ستاد القاهرة الدولي), formerly known as Nasser Stadium, is an Olympic-standard, multi-use stadium with an all-seated capacity of 75,000. The architect of the stadium is the German Werner March, who had built from 1934 to 1936 the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. The engineering and construction supervision work of the stadium was performed by ACE Moharram Bakhoum. It is the 69th largest stadium in the world. Located in Nasr City; a suburb north east of Cairo, it was completed in 1960, and was inaugurated by President Gamal Abd El Nasser on 23 July that year, the eighth anniversary of the Egyptian Revolution of 1952. Ali Maâloul
Ali Maâloul ( ar, عَلِيّ مَعْلُول; born 1 January 1990) is a Tunisian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Al Ahly and the Tunisia national team. Club career Maâloul started his career with hometown club CS Sfaxien and became their captain from the 2014–15 season. In the 2015–16 season, he became the top scorer in the league with 14 goals in 20 matches, a record for a defender since none has scored more than nine goals in a season.
