Congolese Association Football Federation
The Congolese Association Football Federation (french: Fédération Congolaise de Football-Association, FECOFA) is the governing body of Football (soccer), football in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was founded in 1919 and affiliated to the FIFA in 1964 and Confederation of African Football, CAF in 1964. It organizes the national football league Linafoot and the Congo DR national football team, national team. The organisation was previously named the Zairian Association Football Federation (french: Fédération Zaïroise de Football Association, FEZAFA) while the country was known as Zaire. In September 2021, the General Inspectorate of Finance claims to have foiled an attempt to embezzle public funds. Fécofa, the Congolese Football Association, was forced to return nearly a million US dollars acquired fraudulently. This sum was initially allocated to the organization of a sporting event. Claude Le Roy
Claude Le Roy (born 6 February 1948) is a French football manager and former player, who gained prominence at international level as coach to the Senegal and Ghana national teams. He was most recently the manager of the Togo national team. Managerial career Le Roy has had a varied managerial career, starting out at the small French club Amiens SC, after taking over as manager when his playing days ended. His achievements in leading the Cameroon national team to be runners-up in the 1986 African Cup of Nations, and then champions in the 1988 competition, are often cited as his greatest managerial accomplishments. The Vodacom Ligue 1 is the top division of the Congolese Association Football Federation, the governing body of football (soccer), football in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was created in 1958. In 2013, the highest attendance was set in the match DC Motema Pembe - AS Vita Club, which saw an attendance of 80,000 football fans at Stade des Martyrs. The DR Congo national football team, recognised by FIFA as Congo DR (formerly known as Zaire, alternatively known as Congo-Kinshasa), represents the Democratic Republic of the Congo in men's international football and it is controlled by the Congolese Association Football Federation.
