2019 Hamilton Tiger-Cats Season
The 2019 Hamilton Tiger-Cats season was the 62nd season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 70th overall. It was the 150th year overall in the combined history of the Tiger-Cats and its predecessors the Wildcats and Tigers; the team held sesquicentennial celebrations throughout the season. The Tiger-Cats improved upon their 8–10 record from 2018 and finished the 2019 regular season with a franchise best 15–3 record. They finished in first place for the first time since 2014 and attempted unsuccessfully to win their 9th Grey Cup championship. This is the first season under co-general managers Drew Allemang and Shawn Burke, and the first full season under head coach Orlondo Steinauer. It was announced on December 3, 2018 that Steinauer would take the reins as the Tiger-Cats' head coach, replacing June Jones in that capacity. Canadian Football League East Division
The East Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League, its counterpart being the West Division (CFL), West Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the East Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues. The four teams in the division are the Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Montreal Alouettes, and Ottawa Redblacks. The XFL is a professional American football minor league consisting of eight teams located across the United States in mid-sized to major markets served by at least one other major professional sports team. Seasons run from February to April, with each team playing a ten-game regular season, and four progressing to the playoffs to crown a season champion. It is headquartered in Arlington, Texas. Omar Cojolum
Omar Alejandro Cojolum Delgado (born 15 June 1990) is a Mexican professional gridiron football running back for the Dinos de Saltillo of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA). Cojolum played college football at the Universidad del Valle de México (UVM). He started his professional career in 2016 with the Mayas CDMX, winning the 2016 and 2017 Tazón México. Artilleros De Puebla
Artilleros de Puebla (English: ''Puebla Artillerymen'') were a professional American football team based in Puebla City, Mexico. The Artilleros competed in the Central Division of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, the top American football league in Mexico. The team played its home games at the Estadio Universitario BUAP. During its existence, the team never made it to playoffs. 2019 European CFL Draft
The 2019 CFL European Draft took place on April 11, 2019. Nine players were chosen from a pool of 18 European players who attended the 2019 CFL Combine. Background In October 2018, Canadian Football League (CFL) commissioner Randy Ambrosie outlined a plan to grow the CFL's presence, which he dubbed CFL 2.0, including growth internationally. As part of this expansion the CFL held a special draft in January 2019 with the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA), the top-level pro American football league in Mexico. Players selected there were not signed to teams but rather had their rights held by their selecting teams. The 2019 CFL–LFA Draft took place on January 14, 2019. 27 players were chosen from an invited pool of 51 Mexican players: 34 from the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA) (a professional American football league) and 17 seniors from Mexican university teams. 107th Grey Cup
The 107th Grey Cup decided the champion of the 2019 season in the Canadian Football League (CFL). The match was played on November 24, 2019, between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Alberta. Winnipeg defeated Hamilton, 33–12. This was the Blue Bombers' first Grey Cup victory since 1990 (and first as a West Division team since 1984, after two victories as an East Division team), ending one of the longest championship droughts in CFL history.
