2018 Sydney Sevens
The 2018 Sydney Sevens was the third tournament within the 2017–18 World Rugby Sevens Series and the fifteenth edition of the Australia Sevens, of which the third to be held in Sydney. It was held over the weekend of 26–28 January 2018 at Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia. Format The teams were drawn into four pools of four teams each, with each team playing every other team in their pool once. The top two teams from each pool advanced to the Cup/5th place brackets. The bottom two teams from each group went to the Challenge trophy/13th place brackets. 2017–18 World Rugby Sevens Series
The 2017–18 World Rugby Sevens Series, known for sponsorship reasons as the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, was the 19th annual series of rugby sevens tournaments for national men's rugby sevens teams. The 2019 Sydney Sevens was the fourth tournament within the 2018–19 World Rugby Sevens Series and the seventeenth edition of the Australian Sevens. It was held over the weekend of 2–3 February 2019 at Spotless Stadium in Sydney, with former venue Allianz Stadium closed for rebuilding. It was run alongside the women's tournament. The 2018 Sydney Women's Sevens was the second tournament of the 2017–18 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series. It was the second edition of the Australian Women's Sevens and was held over the weekend of 26–28 January 2018 at Allianz Stadium in Sydney, Australia. Performances at this tournament helped determine the first ten seedings for the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens together with the previous year's series and the 2017 Dubai Women's Sevens. Lewis Holland
Lewis Holland (born 14 January 1993) is a professional rugby union player who represents Australia in rugby sevens. Born in Queanbeyan, New South Wales and playing for Queanbeyan Whites at a club level, he debuted for Australia in February 2011. As of December 2015, he had 28 caps. Rugby career Holland made his debut in 2011. He represented both his state and country in 2010 while attending St Edmund's College, Canberra. Holland played Australian Schoolboys alongside former 7s teammate Tom Cusack. In 2012, Holland and Cusack reunited in Australian colours again at the IRB Junior World Championship.
