2018 Speedway European Championship
The 2018 Speedway European Championship season was the sixth season of the Speedway European Championship (SEC) era, and the 18th UEM Individual Speedway European Championship. It was the fifth series under the promotion of One Sport Lts. of Poland. The championship was won by Denmark's Leon Madsen, who finished 11 points ahead of Jarosław Hampel in second. Madsen won the last two rounds of the series, scoring a full 15-point maximum in the final round. Robert Lambert finished third overall, with Antonio Lindbäck and Mikkel Michelsen completing the top five. Qualification For the 2018 season, 15 permanent riders were joined at each SEC Final by one wildcard and two track reserves. Defending champion, Andžejs Ļebedevs from Latvia was automatically invited to participate in all final events, while Václav Milík, Krzysztof Kasprzak and Andreas Jonsson secured their participation in all final events thanks to being in the top five of the general classification in the 2017 ... Leon Madsen
Leon Madsen (born 5 September 1988) is a Danish speedway rider who is twice a World Championship silver medalist. Career Born in Vejle, Madsen won the 80cc junior World Championship in 2001. In 2018 and 2022, Madsen won the Individual Speedway European Championship. In 2019 and 2022 he was the silver medalist in the Speedway World Championship, on both occasions he finished runner-up behind Bartosz Zmarzlik. Emil Damirovich Sayfutdinov (russian: link=no, Эмиль Дамирович Сайфутдинов; born 26 October 1989) is a Russian motorcycle speedway rider and member of the Russia national speedway team. He is a three times Speedway of Nations, World team champion, twice World Junior champion and a two-time winner of the European Championships in 2014 and 2015. Career history ;2005 Sayfutdinov gained his speedway licence in 2005, just before his 16th birthday. He started his career in the Russian league with Mega-Lada Togliatti. His team won the Russian Champion title, and Sayfutdinov was one Mega-Lada's best riders with an average of 2.271 (15th place in league). Kevin Wölbert (born 14 June 1989) is a German speedway rider who has won Individual German Champion title in 2008. Career history When Max Dilger was injured, Wölbert was nominated as second track reserve at the 2008 German Grand Prix. But, after re-staged this event in Bydgoszcz, Poland (as the Final Grand Prix), Wölbert was replaced by Pole Grzegorz Zengota. Due to having Polish roots through his grandmother, Wölbert has been interest of Polish citizenship. He applied for citizenship in November 2009 in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Office in Bydgoszcz. Kacper Woryna
Kacper Woryna (born 31 August 1996) is a Polish Speedway rider. Biography Born in Rybnik Woryna began racing in his native Poland in the Ekstraliga, with hometown club Rybnik. After a few years of riding in Poland, Woryna got his first break into British Speedway riding with the Coventry Bees during the 2016 Elite League season, who beat off competition from his grandfathers former club the Poole Pirates to secure his signature. Woryna was recommended to the Bees management by club captain and Speedway Grand Prix rider Chris Harris, and was also given a big thumbs up by another of his new Coventry teammates, former world number 2 Krzysztof Kasprzak.
