Kacper Woryna
Kacper Woryna (born 31 August 1996) is a Polish Speedway rider. Biography Born in Rybnik Woryna began racing in his native Poland in the Ekstraliga, with hometown club Rybnik. After a few years of riding in Poland, Woryna got his first break into British Speedway riding with the Coventry Bees during the 2016 Elite League season, who beat off competition from his grandfathers former club the Poole Pirates to secure his signature. Woryna was recommended to the Bees management by club captain and Speedway Grand Prix rider Chris Harris, and was also given a big thumbs up by another of his new Coventry teammates, former world number 2 Krzysztof Kasprzak. The following season he joined Poole and helped the team win the SGB Premiership 2018. In 2022, he helped Smederna win the Swedish Speedway Team Championship during the 2022 campaign. Rybnik
Rybnik (Polish pronunciation: ; szl, Rybńik) is a city in southern Poland, in the Silesian Voivodeship, around 38 km (24 mi) southwest of Katowice, the region's capital, and around 19 km (11 miles) from the Czech border. SGB Premiership 2018
The SGB Premiership 2018 was the 84th season of the top division of Great British Speedway in 2018. The season ran between March and October 2018 and had eight teams participating. The line-up of teams remained the same as in 2017. The Swindon Robins were the defending champions after winning the title in 2017. BT Sport continued its TV coverage of the SGB Premiership in 2018. Poole Pirates defeated King's Lynn Stars in the Play off final. 2022 Speedway Grand Prix
The 2022 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 28th season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, and decided the 77th FIM Speedway World Championship. It was the first series promoted by Discovery Sports Events. Artem Laguta was the reigning champion, having won the 2021 title. However, due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, he and Emil Sayfutdinov did not return as all Russian and Belarusian riders had been suspended and were barred from participating any FIM-sanctioned events. Bartosz Zmarzlik won the championship, claiming a third world title. Leon Madsen finished as runner-up, with Maciej Janowski taking the last spot on the podium. 2016 Speedway Grand Prix
The 2016 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 22nd season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, and decided the 71st FIM Speedway World Championship. It was the sixteenth series under the promotion of Benfield Sports International, an IMG company. Tai Woffinden was the defending champion from 2015. Greg Hancock won the title, the fourth of his career. He won the series by nine points from 2015 champion Woffinden, who finished second ahead of debutant Bartosz Zmarzlik. Jason Doyle was leading the series with two rounds to go, but suffered an injury in his first heat during the penultimate round in Poland and was unable to complete the season. He eventually finished fifth, behind Australian compatriot and 2012 world champion Chris Holder, who won his home Grand Prix in Melbourne (his first SGP win since 2012) to move in fourth in the standings. The 1970 Individual Speedway World Championship was the 25th edition of the official World Championship to determine the world champion rider. Ivan Mauger became the first rider to win the title in three consecutive years, his five ride 15 point maximum took him to third in the all time list behind Ove Fundin and Barry Briggs. 1966 Individual Speedway World Championship
The 1966 Individual Speedway World Championship was the 21st edition of the official World Championship to determine the world champion rider. In the final in Göteborg New Zealander Barry Briggs equalled the record of Ove Fundin by winning his fourth World title. Norwegian Sverre Harrfeldt took silver and Pole Antoni Woryna took bronze. Ivan Mauger, a 26-year-old New Zealander who had won the European Final qualifier finished fourth. Format changes The format of the Championship changed for the 1966 event. With the final to be held in Sweden, six riders from Sweden would be eligible for the World Final by finishing in the top six of the Swedish finals. Speedway World Championship
The World Championship of Speedway is an international competition between the highest-ranked motorcycle speedway riders of the world, run under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). The first official championships were held in 1936. Today, this official FIM championship is organised as a series of Speedway Grand Prix events, where points are awarded according to performance in the event and tallied up at the end of each season. However, up to 1994, it was run as a single-night event after qualifying rounds during the season, leading up to a big final of 20 heats, where points were awarded according to riders' heat placings and then tallied up at the end. Antoni Woryna
Antoni Woryna (born 15 February 1941 in Rybnik, Poland - died 14 December 2002) was an international motorcycle speedway rider who appeared in the Speedway World Championship finals five times, and was the first Polish rider to win a medal at that level when he won the bronze medal in 1966. He was a member of the Polish World Team Cup winning teams of 1965 and 1966. The 2022 Swedish Speedway season was the 2022 season of speedway in Sweden. Smederna won the Elitserien and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship.
