2018 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships
The 2018 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships were held in Taipei City, Taiwan on January 22–28, 2018. Medals were awarded in men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Qualification This competition is open to skaters from all non-European member nations of the International Skating Union. Skaters must have reached the age of 15 before July 1, 2017 to participate. The corresponding competition for European skaters is the 2018 European Figure Skating Championships. Each National Federation from the four represented regions are permitted to send up to three skaters/couples for each discipline. National Federations can select their entries based on their own criteria, as long as the selected skater/couples attains a minimum technical elements score (TES) at an international senior event prior to the Four Continents. International Skating Union
The International Skating Union (ISU) is the international governing body for competitive ice skating disciplines, including figure skating, synchronized skating, speed skating, and short track speed skating. Matilda Friend
Matilda Friend (born 30 August 1999) is an Australian former competitive ice dancer. With her skating partner, William Badaoui, she is the 2016 Australian national champion and represented Australia at five Four Continents Figure Skating Championships. Career Early in her career, Friend skated with Patrick Adderley. They won two Australian junior titles. By the 2014–15 season, Friend had teamed up with William Badaoui. The two debuted on the ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) series and won the first of their three junior national titles. In 2015–16, Friend/Badaoui returned to the JGP series and also made their senior international debut at the Open d'Andorra, in November 2015. Harley Windsor (''né'' Dahlstrom-Windsor; born 22 October 1996) is an Australian pair skater. With his former skating partner, Ekaterina Alexandrovskaya, he is the 2017 Junior World Champion, the 2017 CS Tallinn Trophy champion, the 2017 CS Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medallist, the 2018 CS U.S. Classic bronze medallist and a two-time Australian national champion (2016, 2018). Ekaterina Dmitriyevna Alexandrovskaya (russian: Екатери́на Дми́триевна Алекса́ндровская; 1January 200018July 2020) was a Russian-Australian pair skater. With her skating partner, Harley Windsor, she was the 2017 CS Tallinn Trophy champion, the 2017 CS Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medallist, the 2018 CS U.S. Classic bronze medallist, and a two-time Australian national champion (2017, 2019). Brooklee Han (born July 6, 1995) is an American-Australian retired figure skater who represented Australia in ladies' singles. She is the 2018 CS Alpen Trophy bronze medalist, the 2013 Volvo Open Cup champion, the 2013 Australian national champion, and a five-time Australian national silver medalist (2012, 2014–2018). The free dance (FD) is a segment of an ice dance competition, the second contested. It follows the rhythm dance (RD).
