2018 Copa De La Reina De Baloncesto
The Copa de la Reina de Baloncesto 2018 was the 56th edition of the Spanish Queen's Basketball Cup. It is managed by the Spanish Basketball Federation – FEB and was held between January 19 and 21, 2018. Qualification Prior to the start of the season, the rules of the Spanish Basketball Federation established that the top six teams classified at the end of the first leg of the 2017–18 Liga Femenina, would play the Competition. The two first qualified teams qualify directly for the semifinals. Pabellón Príncipe Felipe is an arena in Zaragoza, Spain. Opened on 17 April 1990, the arena holds 10,744 people. It is primarily used for basketball (home of Basket Zaragoza) and handball (home of Caja3 Aragón). Events hosted The arena hosted the 1990 and 1995 Euroleague Final Fours, as well as the 1999 Saporta Cup Final in which Benneton Treviso defeated Pamesa Valencia. The Copa de la Reina de Baloncesto 2017 was the 55th edition of the Spanish Queen's Basketball Cup. It is managed by the Spanish Basketball Federation – FEB and was held between February 10 and 12, 2017. Qualification Prior to the start of the season, the rules of the Spanish Basketball Federation established that the three first teams classified at the end of the first leg of the 2016–17 Liga Femenina, together with the club representing the host province would play the Competition. If the host finished between the three first teams, the fourth classified would also participate. However, on 15 November 2016, the Spanish Basketball Federation expanded the competition to the first six qualified teams at the half of the season, removing the spot for a host team. The two best teams will qualify directly to the semifinals while the other four teams will join the competition in the round of quarterfinals. The Copa de la Reina de Baloncesto 2019 was the 57th edition of the Spanish Queen's Basketball Cup. It is managed by the Spanish Basketball Federation – FEB and was 28 February to 3 March 2019 in the Polideportivo de Mendizorroza, Vitoria-Gasteiz. Perfumerías Avenida beat Spar CityLift Girona 79-71 in the final. Érika de Souza was the MVP. Qualification Prior to the start of the season, the rules of the Spanish Basketball Federation established that the top seven teams classified after the end of the first half of the 2018–19 League (13th matchday, 30 December 2018), would play the competition along with the host chosen by the Federation. Qualified teams Draw The Cup was drawn on 15 February 2019 in Vitoria-Gasteiz. The seeded teams were paired in the quarterfinals with the non-seeded teams. The Copa de la Reina de Baloncesto (English: Queen's Cup of Basketball) is an annual cup competition for Spanish women's basketball teams. The first edition of the competition, originally named Women's Senior Basketball Championship, took place in 1943, which makes it the oldest Spanish women's basketball competition, but it was only since 1978, when it took its current name, that it has been carried every year. The 2012 cup marked the 50th edition of the competition. The cup is played by the top teams of the Spanish Women's League's table in the mid of the season.
