2017 Tour La Provence
The 2017 Tour La Provence was a road cycling stage race that took place between 21 and 23 February 2017. The race was rated as a 2.1 event as part of the 2017 UCI Europe Tour, and was the second edition of the Tour La Provence. The race was won by Australian rider Rohan Dennis, of the ; Dennis finished second to Frenchman Alexandre Geniez () on the second stage to take the leader's blue jersey, and maintained this with another second-place stage finish the following day – behind Italy's Mattia Cattaneo from the team – to take the victory overall by two seconds ahead of Cattaneo. Geniez completed the podium, a further two seconds in arrears, after a tie-break with rider Jonathan Hivert. 2017 UCI Europe Tour
The 2017 UCI Europe Tour was the thirteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2017 season began on 26 January 2017 with the Vuelta a Mallorca, Trofeo Santanyí-Ses Salines-Campos and ended on 17 October 2017 with the Nationale Sluitingsprijs. Belgium, Belgian rider Baptiste Planckaert (), who scored 1,605 points in the 2016 UCI Europe Tour, 2016 edition, was the defending champion of the UCI Europe Tour. Nacer Bouhanni () won the overall standings for the second time in three years; won the team classification, while France won both the overall nations' title and the under-23 equivalent. La Ciotat (; oc, label= Provençal Occitan, La Ciutat ; in Mistralian spelling ''La Ciéutat''; 'the City') is a commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southern France. Miramas
Miramas (; oc, Miramàs) is a commune in France, commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône departements of France, department, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur regions of France, region, southern France. Justin Jules (born 20 September 1986) is a French professional road bicycle racer, who most recently rode for UCI ProTeam . Personal life Born in Sartrouville, he is the son of Pascal Jules, a professional cyclist who was active during the 1980s – achieving one Tour de France stage victory in 1984 – who died in a road traffic accident when Justin was just over a year old. In 2008, Jules was sentenced to three years in prison for the manslaughter of his step-father in 2004. The sentence had been reduced due to a complicated upbringing and his step-father's troubles with alcoholism. Istres (; Occitan: Istre) is a commune in southern France, some 60 km (38 mi) northwest of Marseille.
