2017 Speedway World Cup Race-off
The 2017 Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup Race Off was the third race of the 2017 edition of the Speedway World Cup. It was run on July 7 at the Alfred Smoczyk Stadium in Leszno, Poland and was won by Russia from Australia, Latvia and the United States. As a result, Russia progressed to the 2017 Speedway World Cup Final, where they will join defending champions and hosts Poland, Event One winners Great Britain and Event Two winners Sweden. Australia finished second, but were eliminated from the competition along with Latvia and the United States. Emil Sayfutdinov led Russia to victory with a 15-point maximum, and he was well supported by Gleb Chugunov, Andrey Kudryashov and Vadim Tarasenko. The Russian team still made the final without Grigory Laguta, who was suspended in the build-up to the event after failing a doping test. Gino Manzares
Giovanni Manzares (born 15 August 1993) is a speedway rider from the United States. Career Manzares has won three medals at the AMA National Speedway Championship, silver in 2021 and two bronze in 2013 and 2019. In addition to this success he has won the 2013 AMA Speedway Long Track National Championship and 2012 AMA U21 US Speedway National Championship. He also reached the final of the 2014 Speedway Under-21 World Championship. Manzares began his British racing career riding for Ipswich Witches in the 2014 Premier League speedway season finishing with a 6.02 average. He also competed for Ipswich in 2015, finishing with a 5.43 average. He returned to British speedway in 2018 when he signed for the Scunthorpe Scorpions. Troy Matthew Batchelor (born 29 August 1987) is an Australian speedway rider. Christopher Robert Holder (born 24 September 1987 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian speedway rider currently riding for Lejonen in the Swedish Elitserien and for Apator Toruń in the Polish Speedway Ekstraliga.
